Re: Food/ diet question ( oatmeal)?
I think it sounds like a bad idea to skip two meals a day! Oatmeal is pretty nutritious and filling, so it isn't a bad idea to eat that, maybe with some apples and cinnamon.
Maybe talk with a nutritionist?

I always want to go to one and have made appointments but never succeed in getting there I just want to blink my eyes and have my body back before my 3 kids ! I dont purposely not eat those 2 meals I am just not hungry until late afternoon I guess I fill up on my 2 cups of coffee

Re: Food/ diet question ( oatmeal)?
sorry to crash..
I wouldn't eat oatmeal for both meals. One packet of oatmeal only has about 100 calories which isn't enough for a meal. I would try to eat egg whites as well as oatmeal for breakfast and try to have some sort of lean protein (chicken, lean ground turkey, tuna fish, lean red meat) with veggies and if you are working out have some sort of good carb as well. (Good carb meaning brown rice, sweet potato)
I am very into nutrition, fitness and weight loss so feel free to FM if you want!

awww hang in there hun..
Some mornings I eat the egg whites and then have some oatmeal. Other mornings I eat 2 pieces of ezekial bread and egg whites or 2 real eggs. You need fat in your diet too! Ezekial Bread is found in the frozen organic section of the food stores. It is high in fiber, has protein in it and is just full of great stuff! Let me know if you need anything!

No worries!
Try for lots of veggies with each meal, carbs for breakfast and one other meal when you work out and good fats with each meal when you dont work out or have a carb. Eat five meals a day!! You have to eat to lose!!!

I read that if you eat breakfast period you lose weight because eating breakfast jump starts your metabolism. I'm not sure I would eat oatmeal for both meals though because even though it's a healthy food, it doesn't have enough nutrients to be a complete meal. Also maybe you would get bored just eating that. Maybe eat it for breakfast and something else (salad?) for lunch?
