I'm in MI and we have had 10 inches in the last 8hrs..........I am at work in dspatch and it's a NIGHTMARE! People are calling 911 because the roads are to bad for them to drive....Like an ambulance has some super wx powers

I left work at 1ish ... went to Fed Ex and then Rite Aid ... I honestly didn't think the roads were that bad. I have a SUV with 4 wheel drive though ... but 110, jericho tpke were just wet and a little slushy, not that bad.

Sounds like it is icing out now - great. Snow would have been better. DH is going to a party in rockville centre tonight -- we live in huntington, it takes him 1 hour to get there in 75 degree sunny weather. I hope the party is cancelled and he can watch movies with me all night

glad you made if safe, i have til stay til 5 i think.... which is better than my usual 8pm

everyone is canceling though so i am going to be really board til then...

Yeah, that was my feeling. I went about 15-20 MPH on side roads and 35-40 on main roads - and it wasn't bad for me. But I have an SUV - you do too. I was going to go food shopping tonight - I think it's going to turn to ice though so I am staying in, renting a movie on optimum I think (I have heard great things about 'Once').

Yeah, that was my feeling. I went about 15-20 MPH on side roads and 35-40 on main roads - and it wasn't bad for me. But I have an SUV - you do too. I was going to go food shopping tonight - I think it's going to turn to ice though so I am staying in, renting a movie on optimum I think (I have heard great things about 'Once').

Funny we wanted to go Food Shopping too after the DMV. We never made it to the DMV but we still might go food shopping -- we can walk to the Grocery Store so that might be funny!

Oh I have a full order to get at the store! I am down to pasta and american cheese, and some ketchup. I have been eating JUNK for days. I need to bring my SUV to the store!

Tomorrow might be a MESS at the store because of Sunday's weather ... so ... If i am up early enough I will go in the am. Like 9. otherwise, I will just go at like noon and suffer through the crazy folk buying up all the canned ravioli.

(I know the roads are slippery - but we ain't gonna die in our houses. That's all I'm getting at.)

I was contemplating stopping at target but the snow started to turn to ice so i just came home.

yeah i have to go to the grocery store too but i can walk there so its fine for me, thank god its walking distance. ALthough dh said he will probably stop at the supermarket on the way home so i might not even have to do it, he also said he'll go to blockbuster for tonight.

This is why i have to go back to having an SUV, i could've done all this myself. Even if i had a regular sedan i couldve, instead of a freaking rear wheel drive car. I can do it but i would have to slide all over the place to get anywhere. Ive done it before and its annoying to have to control the car the whole time youre driving and now that its icy, might not be able to straighten it out when it slides

it got serious out there

but im about to throw my snow boots on, they go up to my knees so ill tuck my jeans on, my northface and my hat that covers your ears lol. should be fun WOO HOO lol

im alone so wouldnt be much fun, or maybe i should. But no I was gonna go to times square and drop off the toys i have, today is the last day so i have no choice. But i would have to walk to the train station. However, i might just go to a drop off location close to me instead. There is a toys for tots location at a toys r us not far from me. ITs quite a walk though and i have all these toys lol. Dh might not be home for a long time so not sure if i can wait for him. Otherwise i can just take his car and go there myself
