Yeah I should have done the same thing this morning. I was sliding during lunch and I took J's jeep. I hate driving in this weather.

youre sliding even in a jeep? wow it really is that bad out huh. Now i am worried since dh has to drive home from riverhead

does anybody know if the trains are having issues? for some reason if it rains or snows theres always so many delays

i was jsut on MTA.com and it seems like there are only few subway delays, i believe at 168th st. station, 50th street station and union square station. LIRR is running normally as of 5 minutes ago.

thats not bad at all, for some reason it can get bad at times. Hoping the LIRR stays like that bc id rather take that into the city, i have a couple of packages to carry with me so the easier the better, although the car would've been best, freaking snow. Thank you

The LIRR is great during really bad snow storms. I remember when I was in Stony and it was really bad out, I would leave my car on campus and take the train to my parents house.

maybe it was me who always had bad luck lol. But from penn station i remember quite a few times there were like 30 min delays and i would end up taking the nyc trains home. Sometimes even the NYC trains would be so delayed which was retarded. And with my luck when i get on a train it will be delayed, i always get stuck in the worst situations lol.

Im baaaaaaaack. I bought 5 shovels, 10 bags of rock salt, 2 snowblowers, 15 bottles of water, 100 cans of soup and 4 boxes of hot cocoa..

Ok im good to go

ive been checking and thetrains are all okay still. LI bus is having delays.

yeah someone posted on the 08 boards that even SUV's are sliding all over the place and how bad the roads are and traffic is insane. Some said it took over 30 mins to go 3 exits

Because of this thread we are prob. going to get a foot of snow and doubting the lack of knowledge of our meterologists

not by me i hope at least the main road by me they have. But i guess the smaller blocks they havent even come by. I posted a pic before in this thread and the streets are still covered, here is the pic so you dont have to go look for it.

Thank god for the maintenance guy at my building, he is out there plowing the sidewalks around our building.
