So I still have to change the name on our mortgage. They said when the house is paid off THEN they change the name on the deed..... Does that sound right?

wow.. i never heard of that.. but i guess it makes a little sense..
i had the house also before we got married.. but the mortgage is in DH name so we didnt have to do any of that.

So ps- we have our Mortgage through them AND our accounts. I have had nothing but HORRIBLE experience with them.

We closed on our house a month before our wedding. The mortgage and the deed are in both of our names with my maiden name. I don't think it matters though. If you want to sell your house you can probably just show your marriage certificate to prove that that is your name on the deed. Maybe you could ask your real estate attorney if you need to change your name and how you can do so. He or she should definitely know.

Bank of America just said I had to send in my marriage license & they changed the name on my mortgage...HTH
