Front Doors - We need a new one.

Is anyones else shopping for a front door? We looked at Elegant Entries and of course Home Depot. Like what we saw at EE but I want to shop around a little more. Any suggestions on other places to look?

Only been to Lowes once .. but they may be worth checking into. They're in Patchogue, I believe on Rte. 112, just north of the LI Expressway.

We are! We went to Elegant Entries and Home Depot and a whole bunch of other places. We really like EE but they put a metal frame over your existing frame -- although secure, I'd really like a whole new frame put in. EE comes highly recommended -- I don't know!

Re: Front Doors - We need a new one.

We got our front door replaced when we moved into our home 2+ years ago. We did some searching and after weighing all our options, we ended up having Home Depot do it all. We were very happy with the price, service and we had no problems when they came to install it.

They did tell us it would take one day, but they did have to come back because they had to install the screen/storm door because they needed different tools and moldings.

Here are pictures of before, during and after:

Re: Front Doors - We need a new one.

I'm back - with another plug for Home Depot. (Gosh, we should own stock there). I forgot that last summer we bought our french doors from there and my hubby and a friend installed them in our dining room which leads to a backyard deck.

Here are some photos:

new - outside view - not quite done patching it up!:

Re: Front Doors - We need a new one.

Thanks Ladies
I think we will check out Lowes in Garden City today. I want to place an order this week. Trish your door looks great. Is it one of the Craft something fiberglass?

The house stuff never ends. Last night the hose on our dishwasher broke! We had a nice flood in the kitchen. Its a good think we were home. I had someone in last week to fix a leak under the sink and remove the garbage disposal. I dont know if the hose is just old or the reinstallation caused the problem. UGH
