Funny story regarding Thank you notes...

I was just talking to one of my BMs. She lives in Altanta and is from North Florida.

She commented on how much she liked my Thank you note with the picture and all.

I was like, 'Thanks!!'

She said she will be stealing my idea for her own wedding.

I said,'Isn't that the norm?'

She said,'No. She has been to alot of weddings over the last couple of years, but has never received a thank you with a picture.'

I was Shocked.

Goes to show how LI weddings are different from other parts of the country.

I live in Maine and I had never even heard of photo ty's until I joined this site.

It definitely is not the norm. The only people I ever get them from is from people who got married in NY.

Really? I've always gotten them, and none of my friends are from NY. Most of them live in the south, so maybe it is also the norm there.

In fact, I didn't do pictures with my TYs and a bunch of people commented on it...

My thank you didn't have a picture on it...
For some people I included a 3x5, but most, I didn't...

DH's relatives in the south had never heard of putting a picture in with the thank-yous. They loved it!

i'm including some pictures in each thank you but not one standard one of us...i figured people would rather have a good picture of themselves over a cheezy one of us... i scanned and uploaded my photos to my website and included the link in the TY as well. this whole process has taken forever but worth the effort i think

I would have never known that other states don't use pic TYs.

we got a 'thank you' with a picture once...only one problem - there was nothing written in the card. The outside said 'thank you', but that was it. The bride (or groom) didn't write anything on the inside, they just put their picture. WT*??

But then again, this was the same wedding were the bride walked into the reception chewing gum, saying: 'ok people, lemme see who's here?'

I also had several people comment to me, 'oh, a picture, is that why it took so long for you to send them out?' They were literally surprised about the picture thing and said they never heard of that and never received one before. These are people that live in the greater NY area. I was stunned. I don't think I ever got a thank you note WITHOUT a picture!
