We've had a furry child for 4 yrs now, It took me about 1/12 to talk him into getting a dog - but now he's more in love with her than me (if that's at all possilbe) Her name is Dolly (Doll for short) she's a white adorable spoiled Peke... truly part of the family -

We bought a home in RVC last summer but have already sold it and bought another home in RVC more of what we wanted to buy in the first place - so it's back to the home projects. We just finished in time to put in on the market -

Found out last year on our 1st annniversary we were expecting - I got to tell hubby in his Anniversary card -
We had a beautiful girl named O. Catherine
Has been the best thing that has ever happened to me - She is 5 1/2 months and I truly love being a MOM - nothing even comes close -

Hobbies - they were snowboarding, golf, however, since we bought our home it has become decorating. - It's hard to snowboard especially since the babe - we used to go to Vermont almost every weekend - we haven't gone once since were married - sad but true... I hope that once things calm down a bit - we will go back to it.

Jess(jlf), I have the PREP series from 2000 and 2001, if you want for the boards. I used them for Step 2 and 3. Good luck, I thought it was easier than Step 1.

tammy- an OB doctor we need you on the parenting board we are always asking all sorts of questions and I am sure having an expert opinon would be an added bonus for us.
here is my question- why aren't there any ALL female OB practices on LI? I tried and tried but couldn't find any. That is why I am at a midwife. I couldn't risk a male OB delivering the baby as I just do not see male OBs.

Michele..there is one. The Women's Comprehensive Health Care Center...it's affiliated with LIJ. It's run by Jill Rabin. They staff about 3 or 4 female doctors, not including the female specialists. I go there, they are incredible!!

Leelee - I'm a big Mets fan too. Although I have a mixed marriage - my husband is a big Yankee fan! Makes for some interesting conversations and fighting over who gets to watch what on TV. Would you believe we had to make a rule that whichever team is closer in score, that is the game we can watch.
*sigh* Compromising. . . . .

Mini Honeymoon in Montauk...still planning our big honeymoon,but having major construction on my house starting in August.

We live in Ronkonkoma(few blocks from MichelleW)
in the house I grew up in. My sister lives there too, that's why we are doing construction. Making a ranch into a mother/daughter type.
I work for an electronics company. (and I am down the road from Lizlen) I am the office administrator. Hubby works for an Aerospace co.
We will start TTC in the fall of this year!!! I can't wait!!

Hey VickiC - we are a mixed marriage too! I am a huge Mets fan (no matter how hard they can be to watch!) and he is a huge (true - not fair weather) Yankee fan. He just loves that I love baseball as much as he does and he can talk about stuff and I actually like it and totally understand. I usually sneak the Mets on before he gets there and as long as it is a sport - he doesn't mind too much. I insist on raising my children as Mets fan (when the time comes) but DH doesn't want part of that. My famiy are all huge Mets fans so I hope their big uncles and grandparents will have pull. His family isn't too big of baseball fans! It will be tough though!

Not that I am a true baseball fan but I have a TRULY mixed marriage. My DH grew up in MA and is a .....Red Sox fan of course, I am always a NY Yankee fan even though I don't really care one way or the other but talk about tension

Dawn, Nicey - how funny is that! Seems like the girls are all Mets fans. My nephew is a huge Mets fan too even though his dad is a Yankee fan. Little guy had no choice - we started brainwahing him early!

Michele - I know a couple who is Yankee/Red Sox too. Also makes it interesting.

Hmmmm....my hypothesis is that (and of course, I'm biased!!) the Mets, collectively, are a REALLY good looking bunch of guys!! I would even say perhaps the best looking team in the major leagues!!
Peter and I are both Mets fans...not a Yankee logo in sight!

Where we live: We just bought a house Feb. in Ft. Lauderdale, FL

I was born in Plainview but only lived there for 6 months (so I don't remember it at all but I still have a lot of family in NY), then we moved to NJ, then PA (just outside of Allentown), then to Florida where I met my DH.
DH was born and raised in Nantucket then moved to Florida.

We have an English Bulldog named Madaket who is completely spoiled by DH; and our first child (a ) is estimated to arrive on Sept. 30!! We are very excited! And I'm sure she will be just as spoiled.

I used to play women's rugby in college (where I got the nickname Apples....when there are 5 other girls on the team named Michelle, you all get nicknames) but I haven't played since. I tried to get involved with a team in Ft. Lauderdale but it's just too darn hot in FL to play sports! Plus I've since become a bit out of shape.

And like Michele31, he's a Red Sox fan...I'm a Yankees.
