Honeymoon: didn't take one because we bought a house, but we 'sort of' did a pseudo honeymoon 3 nights in Paris when we went to the UK to see his parents last month

Currently making our house a home, but by bit. Spend most of my days doing housework and ungodly amounts of laundry. Nights with DH. Looking forward to a new addition, our ridgeback, Madison, who was born on June 1st. Hoping to start TTC sometime this year...depending on how well I fare with the dog.

DH is a techie. He writes the intranet system for a well known bank. His commute is hell (he's up at 4am) but he loves Long Island and says the commute is worth the quality of life he has since moving out of the city. He's going to be 36 in October.

Hobbies: we mostly like quiet things. Dinners and movies. Entertaining friends. BBQs, now that we bought a grill and furniture...
(I know I promised to host a GTG and I intend on keeping my word before the summer's up!) When we get our pup we plan on being very active in dog shows and field coursing events.

DH has 4 kids, 19, 16, 15 & 14! Three of them were in the wedding and stay with us every other weekend. We will also TTC, but right now we're focused on the house - estimated closing date July 29.

DH also brought a cat named Cuddles to the marriage! She is the sweetest, cutest, most lovable cat! She is also one who needs lots if attention and love and really does love to cuddle!!

I grew up upstate in Poughkeepsie, but DH is a LI boy from Plainview. We now live in Forest Hills and will be looking to move in a couple of years. My DH does not even want to hear about TTC-ing and personally, I'm not quite ready myself. We figured we'll try our parenting skills first on a cat, which we will get this fall. We like to eat out a lot and try various margarita recipes. We also watch the Yankees almost every time they play!

How We Met: We met while we were both college students, me a business major and Nick a techie major at Pace University, New York in the Computer Lab. Nick flirted with me to get my attention while on duty in the lab tossing my student identification card on the floor and making me bump my head from the registration desk to pick it up. After the Fall 1996 semester ended, we sat next to each other in the lab sending emails to each other where I’ve given Nick my phone number and told him I was free during the Christmas 1996 break. He’d asked me out and we went to a local sports bar for dinner on a bitter cold December evening of a New York winter as our first date.

How We Got Engaged: February 14, 2001
Nick proposed at one of our most memorable places, Captree State Park on West Islip, Long Island, New York. We left work promptly at 5:30 p.m. heading east bound on the LIRR at Hicksville where Nick parked the car. We drove nearly 30 miles which Tina had no clue as to where we were going. We vaguely remember how far Captree State Park was, but remember that night where we sat in the car to talk back in January 1997. We got out of the car into the darkness and started to walk on the boardwalk. He told Tina that he got a surprise for her and have her turn around where the view of Fire Island was calm and a clear night. She then was allowed to turn around to see a little box wrapped up perfectly for Valentine’s Day. Nervously, she opened the box shaking from the cold and saw a ring sparkling in the darkness. Nick then got down on his hands and knees taking Tina’s hand to pop the question. Overwhelm with joy, she said yes throwing herself at Nick with a bear hug. We then went to the nearest place to eat since we were far from home at Seaford Palace Diner for a late dinner.


We've been married for almost one year now, 11 months by July 24 to be exact. We are currently seeking other housing options as we are sick of the board and all the bureaucratic nonsense of 'Big Brother is watching us' from our cooperative apartment. Either a single family house or townhouse is a must, no more co-ops, condos, and apts is too small as we've outgrown our space. Definitely apartment dwellers! We both would like different jobs but same fields or different industries but the market is terrible but we can try.

Honeymoon: We went to Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora for 11 days. It was so incredibly amazing and gorgeous. Best days of my life .. so far =) Then we topped it off with a day in LA and a couple days Vegas.

What else .. I'm still trying to get used to the East Coast.. knowing that winter is coming up really isn't helping. I'm homesick a lot and it's hard to sit at home all day without a job! But I'm looking ... let's see what happens. Still not sure if I want to work in CT or if I want to go to NYC. I've always wanted to be there.

We're just enjoying married life a day at a time .. still have to pick out the wedding pics for our album. Not planning on having kids for a few years
