Gift Question

we got a gift from someone which was EXACTLY what we paid per head (incl tax & service charge). its a very odd number so the person must have called the Riviera to find out what we paid. DH & I felt very weird about it - anyone ever hear of someone doing this?

ETA: my DH was kind of drunk when we opened it after the wedding and he just thought it was just an amazing coincidence

OK so its not just me? while i guess they wanted to 'cover' themselves, we felt a little violated (for lack of a less dramatic word). i dont even think our families knew what the final pp cost was!

I used to work in a catering hall & people called all the time...it is in very poor taste & if I answered the call I would tell them that it is confiential information that is part of a contract. (I dunno if it's true, but it usually got them off the phone).

The only downside is usually if someone is calling they do not know what to give for a gift & they may think your wedding costs much less. That came out wrong, but you know what I mean
