Girls who are TTC

Soooooo. DH has baby fever bad. He actually sat me down last night and said he really wants a baby. I, for selfish reasons don't know if I'm ready. Some days I'm psyched about getting prego and other days I don't even want to think about it.
The question is- what made you guys want to TTC? Was it a definite feeling of something you wanted to do or do you have doubts some days?
Any opinions are appreciated.

i have a fear that i wont be able to get pg... so i want to try right away... we both want at least 3 maybe 4 kids... and id like to have them in my early -mid 30's... i dont want to be an older mom...

honestly, it was just like something clicked one day. we looked at ourselves emotionally and financially, and we just -felt- ready. if you asked me before the wedding, i would have told you that we were going to wait at least 3 years. think of it this way--you probably got a feeling one day that DH was 'the one' for you...we just had a feeling that now was the right time, and then we looked at the more practical aspects of it after that. i hope that made some sense!

ROZ!! That pic is adorable!!!

As for me, I am TTC starting at the end of this month. Our HM starts on 9/5, so I thought we could start a week before hand...DH can't wait to have kids..he wants two girls!!



if we do have girls they will have DH wrapped around their fingers....he is such a wus....can never say no...especially when you put on a boo boo face...i should know I give him that face all the time and gives in to me all the time....

I hear that!! Though DH wouldn't mind trying. But we've agreed we'd rather buy a house first.

We knew because we couldn't picture our lives without a child anymore.

Thanks for the input ladies. Some days I feel like I want to TTC, some days no. Sooooo, I guess I'll know when I know.
I guess I should add that I'm 36 and time is NOT on my side

i just had an overwhelming desire to be my mother and having a baby is all i think about all day

For us, pretty similar..DH and I originally wanted to start trying after our 1 year anniversary..but like Laura said, for us it 'clicked' around Christmas time...we are 31 and 34 (DH is turning 35 in 2 weeks), and we started having lots of conversations..we knew we were emotionally and financially ready..our careers are well established..plus I think being in our 30's we had already done so much traveling, had our 'party time years', owned properties, had financial stability....we basically knew that we had everything out of our system and ready to focus all of our energy on us and our family..

So we decided sto start trying in the spring, and got pregnant our 2nd month of trying.

Alot of girls freak and say they're going to start TTC early in case it takes them a long time (hey it takes even the healthiest couples in their 20's up to a year)--but when you decide to start TTC--be prepared to get pregnant immediately (even though that's usually not the case).

We were SHOCKED that it happened so fast..

I don't think either one of us is ready. We're not in the place we would like to be financially and home wise. We're going to wait at the VERY least a year if not longer. I do keep thinking of baby dust but my sister is preggers so I'll let her have the kids first!

for us this was something we knew we wanted to start trying for the second we got married.

we didn't want to start trying before the wedding... so the HM was our decided timeframe to start.

I think a lot of it is our ages.... we are in our late 20's and I will be 30 in November. So since we aren't getting any younger... now is the time for us!! I didn't want to be an old mom... I actually wanted to have kids when I turned 23ish!!

The whole being pregnant and then pushing that size human being out of the who ha... is FREAKY and insanely scary for me. My coping method.... DO NOT THINK ABOUT IT! I do not ever read birth stories. I want to know nothing about the birth part of it all. I'm def going to go the drug route if i can.
