Got my new wedding band this weekend....

Ok so some of you ladies know my wedding bands were never what i wanted. Long story short, they were sposed to be custom to my e band but the jeweler fawked up, when I told him they were not what i wanted he bullied me saying it was 'just because of the larger diamons' BS!. Since DH didnt stand up for me I caved because it was awkward. But I've always disliked how blocky they looked.

fast forward to now. DH finally agreed to let me trade them in for a new ring. I wanted an eternity band-pretty classic. Or a 3 row pave setting all the way around.

UNFORTUNATELY....when DH picked out my eband he chose one with a wide band so nothing I tried against it in the styles I liked, worked with it. They wre too small or too blocky because my e-ring band is a knife edge and tapers. So most of the rings were too blocky OR for because mine is knife edge and the others were flat, the 'textures' and colors looked off. It was just odd.

Long story short...I STILL dont have the band I want. I just chose one identical to my e-ring band. So it matches but doesnt sparkle much.

The only way to get the band I want is not wear my ering and that would make DH feel bad so I am not going that route. We are just going to get a new band for my right hand for our 5th anniversary rather than the 10th....unless of course we have a house by that point and I end up wanting new countertops. Always possible oye.

I cant seem to take a clear pic of my ring with the macro setting so this is it-identical to this with both the band and the e-ring.

Thanks yesi-Exactly! Just a little whine..not too much. we all are entitled to a mini one a week if we wish to take it. Thats the new rule.

I am pmsing this week. next week i won't care and will wnat to save for the countertops in our non-existent house.

LMAO you're such a crackup Susi. I told Pete and he said 'WHAT?' I was like no really! it made her ring SHINE!

I think it's the cut of the stones that enhances the sparkle. My ring pretty much sparkles all the time and the band is also etched with a beadwork design that adds to the shine.
The windex is good at getting rid of the dust that seems to acumulate, and I use a baby toothbrush to get into the crevices. 5 minutes is all it takes.

Your new band is gorgeous I'm so glad you were able to find something you were happier with. I know the feeling of hating your wedding band - the same thing happened to me (except mine was too small for my ering). People kept coming up to me AFTER we got married and congratulating me on my engagement.... I was like 'um, we're married now' and there response was 'sorry, I didn't notice the wedding band.' Finally, I had enough and talked DH into letting me get a new band with the agreement that I would keep the original and wear it on my other hand (he's sentimental).

Ahh you were in the same boat as me. Because the e band was soo wide the one row eternity bands with moderate stones looked small and got lost next to it.

He did suggets getting me a larger center stone for my e ring but Im kinda sentimental about the ring now because its the only 'original' thing about my set now, if that makes sense. I didnt think I would be sentimental but I dont really wnat to change or exchange it because its not what I wanted BUT...its what HE picked for me so thats what makes me attached to it.

I know exactly what you are saying.... Although, if you were ever so inclined to get a new center stone, you could always take the one you have now and have it mounted as a necklace so that way it is 'closer to your heart'. I can always find excuses to get new jewelry

I'm telling ya - anytime you need an excuse for new jewelry, I'm your girl!!!

ETA: This is how I got DH to agree to my new band since he was dead set against it at first - 'Honey people keep looking at my rings and assuming that I am only engaged. The band is too small and no one can see it.' His response - 'So?' My response - 'But hun, that means that when I am out without you there are going to be guys that assume that I am only engaged and not married.' His response - 'I'm getting my keys, let's go to the jewelry store.'

They are such idiots, aren't they? Cute idiots but idiots nontheless!!! So now I have both bands - the one on my left I wear with my ering and the orig one is on my right hand with my claddagh ring. In case you don't know what a claddagh ring is - it's a traditional irish wedding band.... Soooo, now I am married on BOTH hands! I think this was his master plan from the beginning....... Nah, he's not that smart He's lucky he's cute!
