Gown Preservation

OK ladies I was married last weekend and I have no idea what to do with my wedding gown. Did everyone bring their dress to be professionally cleaned and boxed? Can anyone advise how much this typically costs and where you get it done? Is it at any cleaners?

TIA

Re: Gown Preservation

Davids bridal does a great job and its inexpensive. You just pack up your dress in the kit and they send it back to you boxed up in a display box. Plus, it doesn't matter if you bought your dress there, they take all dresses. Look online for the preservation kit.

Re: Gown Preservation

I had mine done at my regular dry cleaners - they did a great job. It was $200.

I agree, I used their services and for my dress, my Cathedral Veil, my Garter and my fingertip veil, I paid about $190.
It came out amazing and super fast!

Re: Gown Preservation

I had my dress professionally cleaned, but not preserved. I'm trying to sell it on the preowned dress site right now. I spoke to a few people and they all told me to just sell it.

Once you have it preserved you can't take it out of the box or you have to have it preserved all over again. It's too expensive to do that every time I want to look at it. Plus I doubt my daughter or nieces will want to wear it, they will want their own. It's too pretty to me to have it turn yellow and sit in a closet collecting dust for 50 years
