guest room decorating HELP

guest room decorating HELP

i need some serious help. I am dying to decorate my guest bedroom in a 'beachy, hamptons-esk' theme but I am totally clueless. It is pretty much a blank slate at this point. I have very old antique furniture that has been in my family forever and the bed is setup as a daybed at the moment.

Where can I find wall art and coordinates, throw pillows etc. that wont cost an arm and a leg? Also, what color paint? Window treatments? HELP

i'd go to BB&B for wall art/decor.... bring a million 20% off coupons!!

big lots is also good for that & throw pillows!

I'd do tan and turquoise as the color theme for the room. I'm trying to find some pictures for you. I LOVE the furniture. It's gorgeous

Michael's is in that shopping center too, and they have an aisle where they sell small shells, sand dollars, sea glass and all that stuff! Have fun!

Re: guest room decorating HELP

there are a lot of beachy theme wall art things out there. I saw some at Tuesday Morning at Hicksville Mall. They are like an off lot so idk of anything in particular they have in stock.

I would do the walls a pale aqua.

And use some accents of beachy stuff w/o making it too themey.

I plan to do my office in a beachy motif so i have lots of pics on my other computer. I will post them later for you.

here is this just an idea of the color theme I'm talking about

Re: guest room decorating HELP

I would definately add a larger mirror above the bed, one more like this, makes the room look & feel larger and more open. Or photos (black and white prefferably of the beach!)

Re: guest room decorating HELP

Also, I would change the drapes for a sheer white and possibly a light blue/white or subtle stripe or a sailcloth drape (bottom) to get that 'cabana' feel.

And the green bedskirt throws me off, I would switch to a basic clean crisp white.

I second Home Goods. I often see beach-themed items.
