We are thinking of going to a Sandals resort this summer. We were posssibly looking into the Royal Bahamian. Has anyone been there or does anyone recommend another sandals? Thanks so much!! =)
I've posted about this before... Sandals Royal Bahamian was beautiful. My husband and I had a great time, unfortunately I got Salmonella poisoning on my last day. I would not wish that on my worst enemy. Sandals was not very accommodating in terms of making things right. I can see their point of view in denying everything, they must get accused of similar situations often. However, after getting sick, I've talked to at least 5 different people who had some sort of stomach ailment while there. Just something to keep in mind.
Well, I would have liked an apology. They were not apologetic at all. It's kind of hard to say I ate somewhere else at an all inclusive resort. My last night there and my entire last day were ruined, some sort of refund would have been nice. On top of which I lost five vacation days when I came back and SIX months of positive testing for salmonella. Which entails blood samples, stool samples (sorry TMI), trips to my regular doctor and an 'Infectious Disease' specialist at Stony Brook Hospital to clear myself. When you contract an infectious disease you have to clear yourself with the county you live in to make sure you aren't spreading it to other people! All of which were not completely paid for by my insurance$$$. Sorry to vent, but it was the worst experience of my life. As I have also said...the place was beautiful and up until the ordeal, we also planned on returning.

I have been to the Grande St. Lucian, it was so incredible that we are going back in 12 days!
I have a friend who went. Her only issue is that the beaches were public, not private. I don't think it was ever advertised as a private beach, but I guess she assumed it was
We went to Dunn's River in Jamaica and really enjoyed it. The resort was very nice and they include a lot of activities. The beach we were located on was private and gated. I would definitely go to another without hesistation.
