yes stayed at one in PA, i loved it. I dont even think i saw the owner except for once. the only thing i didnt like was that the dining room area, had several tables of 4 and there was a lady there to kinda sit you, and she didnt let anyone sit at a table alone. We asked for a table by ourself and she told us that it would be much nicer if we shared with someone else.

We were engaged in Napa @ a B&B. We had a great time!!!! They def. mind their own business and we had a seperate table to eat our breakfast. It was fun because at night, the would leave cookies, cakes and port wine for us to take up to our room. Very cozy.

We stayed at one somewhere in PA. The only time we saw the owners was when they were serving breakfast. They had a few rooms in the house and then an apartment type thing with a kitchette and all in an adapted garage. It was very cute.

We stayed at Duck Pond Inn in Newport, RI. It was my second time there....I loved it. Homemade breakfast every morning, and Laura Ashley decorated rooms with private bathrooms Also it was less than staying at a hotel (they are a lot in the summer months there). The only thing that I'm wary of with B&Bs is that sometimes you have to share a bathroom with people you don't know....I always check to make sure that is not the case because i just can't

eta: They def minded their own business, mostly stayed in the kitchen out of the way or in their own living quarters. We only saw them when they were serving us breakfast

we've stayed at two, one in pennsylvania in hershey (amazing b&b) and one on long island for our 1yr anniv.
they definitely mind their business; but we did have to eat with strangers, that seems to be the theme at b&b's. Being New Yorkers, I think it's offputting to us because we love to do our own thing. But its ok, it's only one meal and it's usually homemade and yummy. ITA about the shared bathroom thing, find out about that ahead of time!

I'm a big b and b person....in Louisiana we had a whole MANSION to ourselves for 150$
There are lots of different experiences...the smaller less expensive ones the hosts can be more chatty, the bigger more expensive ones you are probably more on your own.
