I've always been domesticated and super gay!!

now that I'm married though.. i'm LAZY!!!!!!!!!!!

You are super gay. At least you admit it.

That's why Mike always tells me we should go elope somewhere. Me and you that is.

HAHA!!! Oh I am well aware of my ultra gayness!! If I were a boy I'd be the BIGGEST FLAMER AROUND!!!!!! hahahahahaha!!!!

your last part was funny... the ending... because I didn't get it until you wrote 'me and you that is'. I was like why would she elope with Mike when they are already married? And what in the world does that have to do with gayness and cleaning?? hahahahaA!!

I'm cooking lots but it's because I'm not working now. Oh, and we have an amazing kitchen so I love cooking. I definitely don't consider it a bad thing, being a 'housewife' which is what I am right now.

A housewife with a $200k education... please don't remind my dad about that one.

DH is going to have a rude awakening when I finally do get a job, I'm afraid. But I've been warning him.... if I go back to working 12-hour days, I will not be cooking dinner when I get home.

OMG!!!!!! That is hysterical!! My dad reminds me of this everytime they are over and he sees me cleaning the dishes or straightening up....He always says 'wow...$200k education to clean the dishes!!' I knwo hes just joking but I thought I was the only one who heard that......

I was NEVER domesticated before this...I was a little spoiled when it came to this...my mom was a stay at home mom and my job was school and school work and after that, just my career work- so I never cooked or did laundry...cleaning yes, obviously I had to keep my room clean.... So moving in with dh has def made me more domesticated than before....

We have lived together for a long time so nothing has really changed. I would like to be more domesticated and organized.

I haven't had a choice....if I don't do the laundry, cook the dinner, pack the lunches, clean the floors and bathroom...we'd be starving and naked. I've got a good system down so so far so good, but I went from basically having a free ride to having to do it all, and DH went from having a free ride to STILL having a free ride. Monkey. At least he'll make the bed every other day.

please please please listen to me...you will burn yourself out. this is what i did. it created a TON of resentment btw me and DH, you have to have him help. we went through a strange few weeks about 1 month into our marriage, it sounded a lot like what you just described. i finally made my DH help out, and our marriage is a lot better, when he helps out. i know you are prob saying this won't happen to you, but it will. please have him help, you aren't his mother, you are his wife.

Ooh tell me about it... a high end college and TWO masters degrees and I am sitting on my ***, the only money I am making being a few days a week if I am lucky subbing or by coiling wire for DH's company.

I was always domesticated. I grew up italian (real Italian). So i was so luck y to have a mother that was a rockin cook & we all picked it up. Also, cleaning was like my moms passion (hahahaha) but because of her im a neat clean freak & u know what i love doing it. I love keeping my home perfect & with the sweet scents of good home italian cooking. YUM I knwo dont know how i pull it all off at times. Being a comptroller is definitely a FULL TIME job. But u do what u do when u want to.

Definitely. I now love cooking and make dinner for us most nights, DH washes the dishes and makes the bed, walks the dog in the morning, I pack lunches and make breakfast....and that's about all that we do.

We went to war during our first month of marriage- he literally did not do ANYTHING to help and I was overwhelmed with laundry/cleaning ect....I also work the longer hours. It was too much. I'm happy to read that I wasn't alone in burning out. We hired a maid to clean once per week because I'm not his mom and I have a right to my free time also!

Im actually a little relieved to hear this!! I thought I was the only one! DH was living a typical bachelor life before I moved in - did what he wanted when he wanted to - if he even wanted to do it!!! When he lived on his own, he had a cleaning lady and would send out his laundry! So it was a little difficult at first. But we got a system going - it works for the most part....but you definitley need him to help out! You are really going to burn yourself out. A cleaning lady does help too if you guys can afford it. We usually get one once a month to do a deep cleaning.

Absolutely u need to talk to hubby & get him to help you. DH always mops the hardwood floors & shine sthem & cleans the bathrooms. Especially the glass shower doors. He gets them where there isnt astreak to be seen. Also, on weekends if i cook he cleans dishes & pots etc & if he cooks (because he is a great cook he owns a pizzeria) then i clean dishes & pots. etc. He also makes the bed every morning perfectly. I hope u can discuss this with your husband its imortant for him to take pride in his home just as you have.
