Have you ever broken up with DH?

DH and I started dating when we were 15. The first summer we were together, we fought A LOT! He always wanted to hang out with his friends and I always wanted to be with HIM! One day, he promised me that we would spend the whole day together and we went to the 'feast' at our church. When we got there ALL of his friends were there and it became clear that he TOLD them to meet us there. When i confronted him about it, he asked me to take a walk.

He said he didn't want to go out with me anymore. He told me YEARS later that he didn't mean it he just thought if he broke up with me, he could go hang out with his friends for the night and it would be better in the morning.

Well, his plan didn't work. I was heart broken. I cried so hard I made myself throw up and he had to CARRY ME two blocks to my house. Then I walked in my house and WAILED and ran to my mom and told her EVERYTHING with him right there so he felt obligated to stay with me. My MOM tucked me in and made me tea and he sat there awkwardly holding my hand while my mom tried really hard not to break his neck.

Then for the next few weeks, my mom fed me soup and pastina and I didn't get out of bed. My friends came over and got me italian ices and tried to make me feel better. It was HORRIBLE!

grr typing this out made me so mad at him again LOL I was so dramatic!

we never officially broke up, but we went through a LOT the year before we got engaged...so much so that i almost broke it off once or twice..we were NOT the happy couple we were used to being.. We had been together 3years already, and i had been away at school for almost 2 of them..(lol i was only in manhattan...but we went from literally being together every single day to every other weekend if that..it really was a big difference)...anyways, so while i was away things were actually fine..most couples broke up but we stuck it out & just missed each other..and always happy when we could be together. However, upon graduation & when i moved back from being away, things were different. I think we both had just grown in our own ways, but were used to the old way that we were(individually i mean)...i changed & he changed..and there was also a huge misconception & lack of communication while we were separated from each other, & about our individual futures(hope i'm making sense lol)...it took a lot of adjusting, a lot of talks....Anyways, needless to say we fought a LOT. there was a point where i really didn't think we were going to make it, but we pulled through it & came out 10times stronger and happy on the other side. I'm actually thankful that it all happened when it did...we majorly grew together because of it all & i really feel our relationship & respect for each other is as strong as it is because of everything we went through...we had growing up & learning to do..that was all

We didn't really break up, but we did decide to take it easy and see other people about 2 years into the relationship. I went out with other guys and so that no one compared to DH, and then he really worked on improving what I didn't like. It all worked out for the best!

we had an argument in a cab one night and he told me 'i don't think I love you anymore...'

I said 'ok' and at the next red light left the cab... he didn't think i'd do THAT...and chased after me

he was just looking for *attention*.. and was p*ssed at me for some stupid reason.

i told him 'don't you ever threaten me out of spite or next time I will walk...'

so we never 'broke up' but yeah... that was funny

Never. Never even talked about it during a fight.
I remember he once said when we were first dating that he thought most couples break up at some point to see if you can be w/o the person (that was what his good friend was doing at the time anyway), so I remember thinking all along, crap, if he really believes that, he's going to break up with me--luckily, our relationship made that theory of his go out the window.

Yes , I think like twice In the VERY beginning.Our first year.
He was acting up.. It pissed me off
I just got out of a bad thing prior.. I thought I just left an @Hole I don't need another 3 months the first time .. than the other time was about 1 month and a couple wks .

He saw my Best Guy friend out during our time apart and told him he L VED me He never told me that bfr (that softened me) Than shortly after he lft these custom car mats he ordered for me on my car in front of my house.

I called to Thank him we have been together ever since

BTW - he still acts up but not in the same ways

DH and I have had our HUGE blowouts where I grab a bag and pretend to pack and he stops me and tell me not to leave (which I wasnt going to anyway) We've also threatened to end it, knowing we would never. We've definitely had rough patches where we would fight constantly but we always come around and things get better.

Yes... we've been dating since I was 15.... we had some little break ups here and there..... by little, I mean like between 2 and 24 hours MAX. then we broke up 'for real' for a few months when I turning 20. It was really hard, but probably the best thing we ever did. From that time on, everything has been pretty much perfect!

Yes, after 3 years or so we broke up for a year.

I don't regret it at all. We were really young when we got together and needed to see what else was out there.

Obviously, there was nothing better out there as we are now back together and married.

I swear its like something out of a movie. SO dramatic. Except things dont usually end with him ripping off my clothes and ravaging me. Im usually so effin pissed I dont want him anywhere near me!

we never broke up, but there were a few times where i mentally felt the need to take stock of our relationship and evaluate things.

we dated for 5+ years before getting engaged, and since i was ready after about 2 years .... and i'm NOT a patient person at all .... those last 3 years were rough waiting for him to be ready.

the good news, i guess, is that ending things never felt like the right answer ... i always came to the conclusion that he would *eventually* be ready

Thats how I see it! At 15 you guys were LEARNING how to be in a relationship. I would love to see a pic of you guys when you were that young next to a pic of you guys now. You were probably sooooo cute!!!

youre like the girl who cried wolf now. He doesnt believe you. Thats like DH and I! Ill pretend to pack and look out the corner of my eye to see if he's coming! He doesnt come as fast anymore.
