Are you ladies going to get your dress preserved? I want to do it but I am not sure if I am going to go with David's Bridal (where I got my dress) or another place.

I haven't had my dress preserved yet - it's hanging on my closet door in a garment bag. I know I have to get moving on that but it just keeps falling to the bottom of my list.
Same here!!!

i might do the website one - its not that expensive and there is no hassle - i dont have to lug the dress around and if i ever decide to do day after pics or wear the dress again i wont feel bad taking it out of the box since its not that expensive....

I'm donating my dress, not preserving it. It's going to a nonprofit, where they auction off the dress and give the money to breast cancer charities.
I won't ever wear it again, and I doubt that if I had a daughter she would (my mother's wouldn't fit and was very 70s--I'm sure my daughter would think the same thing about mine).
What's the name of the charity? I may want to do that.

Mine is in a big black garbage bag! And it is FILTHY. It rained on my wedding day and we had an after party at a bar -- the bottom of the dress is BLACK! I need to get it cleaned but I am not sure about preserving it ... maybe ... should decide that soon!!!!

I'll never take it out, or look at it... my children won't want to wear it.. it's going to sit in a storage space until i die and someone throw it away, lol.

Re: Have you gotten your dress preserved yet?
I haven't gotten mine done yet because we might do a day after shoot/ trash the dress shoot with my photographer...well I hope so!!
but i honestly don't know if i will have it preserved. I think, even though I love my dress sooo much, might have it made into a christening gown and have patches made with their names or something for when my sisters get married so they can have something old sewn into their dress.
no one else is going to wear my dress again well at least i have a feeling no one will. plus i want my daughter to have a new dress just like i did. something she picked out.

that is why i don't want to bother - but in case we do day after pics i want to have the dress and it needs to be cleaned - its filthy
dont worry, you might get a good laugh with it one day - my sister and i wore my mom's fooling around and it was hysterical

Hi, Brianna!!!! Fortunately, Debi's premarital counselor from Church is a dry cleaner, and gives free preservation, as a gift at the end of counseling. Mary MOB

Re: Have you gotten your dress preserved yet?
I DO NOT recommend WedClean. I just got my dress back and I am devastated. There are stains on it that were not there before - brown, tea-colored ones. Their 'explanation' has been that the preserving chemicals sometimes make food-related stains (wine/champagne) more noticeable. Well, I know when I sent it to them there were no BROWN stains on the back of my dress, but there are now. I am seeking a full refund.
I just wanted to put this story out there because I know they have many good reviews on here, but I would caution against using them based on my experience.
