Healthy in '08

Okay ladies it is here 2008. In 2007 with a few days left of junk food we promised to be good in '08.

What changes have you made so far? What day to day things are yopu doing?

I am trying to cut coke and iced tea out of my life. i think I am addicted. Water and Seltzer will be my new best friends.

Most importantly what is for lunch? I want a big fat everything bagel with 5 pounds of vegetable cream cheese. 5 Hours into being healthy and already I am thinking of all the wrong stuff.

What are your favorite healthy lunches????

i gave all teh leftovers to my hubbyb to take to work but saved some awesome tortellini that my friend made and that was my lunch today

BUT
i have my fridge stocked with healthy stuff like water, lots of fruit and veggies, yogurt, lean chicken and tonight we're having fish
i got alot of regular foods in the whole wheat version like rice, bread, waffles, and fig newtons - im a bread-a-holic so i need some kind of fix lol

I've gone back to eating much less for breakfast (egg whites and weight watchers bread instead of a giant bagel with cream cheese and eggs on the side!), drinking tons of water, and trying not to dip into the giant candy bowl in my office. Also trying not to eat a lot right before bed and eating less salt so I don't feel like the Marshmallow Man every morning when I wake up. I always bring my lunch to save money and avoid temptations of eating too much or the wrong stuff. I eat a lot of Lean Cuisine/Smart Ones/Healthy Choice frozen meals, some cut up veggies, maybe a piece of fruit or a granola bar. And I always have some kind of protein snack before the gym, like a piece of string cheese or a spoonful of peanut butter.

I'm soooo sick of junk food right now that it's almost easy but I'm sure that by this time next week I will be sitting on my hands to avoid grabbing handfuls of chocolate

Wow, well you look great!! If I ate like that they'd have to grease the doorways to let me through.

I am going to try and cut out my constant snacking! There is no real junk food left in the house, so that should help. I am going to try and drink more water..cause right now i drink..um..NONE! haha. I will try and only have one cup of coffee and make the rest green tea...and in addition to my tae kwon do as exercise add some light weight training. Oh also eat alot more fruits and veggies, i am just so lazy when it comes to that...if i had someone make me healthy food I' eat it...but it takes too long to prepare...hahaha. Here's to us being hot wives in 2008!

Soda is the devil!!! I could drink it all day long... seriously. Today is my first day back on the wagon, so to speak. Water only..
I had a salad with grilled chicken and fat free italian for lunch (I did have a roll though)

I have to lose the weight I've gained since the wedding, because I was measured for two BMs dresses weighing 13 pounds less!!

This is exactly why I have been trying to use my smaller dishes. Less dish=less food.

I'm not trying to loss weight just trying to be healthier... My weakness is soda... but If I drink a soda i skip a meal for it, so does that count?

I eat a lot of fruits but no veggies there all yuck!!!

and fruits are so expensive in the winter!! where is everyone getting them? I heard costco has good prices I'm gonna try there this weekend.

We have been eating much better since the week after the wedding, better then we ever have, DH lost 22 pounds in 9 weeks!!! I cook only lean stuff and making diiner every night and sending him to work everyday with lunch has helped a lot. Me no weight down excpet the 11 pounds I gained on the HM.. Seriously how is that possible? 2 weeks and a ton of excerise If that counts
