To those who have started XMAS shopping - how do you know that what you buy the person wont go on major sale or be bought by the person who youa are giving the gift to in the next 4 months?

I'd like to be included as well! Stef ... I know, my feelings exactly. I can't start shopping this early, because I'm usually likely to 1) see something else that I like better and 2) see the item reduced even more. Also, I want to be able to give the person a gift receipt so they can return the item if they wish and some stores are strict with return policies!
