HOLY - What do u think

HOLY - What do u think

Its is said that within teh first year of marriage the average woman gains 21 lbs.

So ladies what do u think? Do you see yourself as one that will never allow that or can you see yourself slipping & gaining weight??

For me my health & working out is a priority. Its a lifestyle for me & not something i have to do. I enjoy working out & running & could never give it up. I eat right all week & allow myself to indulge a bit on weekends. But for me NO WAY! We shall see when little ones are in the mix. Thank goodness for the babysitting at the gym. lol

with how hard I worked on losing my weight, I would never allow for it to get that bad, I've already let it get bad enough at 10 and I'm putting a stop at it there

wow i hope not! i eat pretty healthy during the week too cause i usually bring my bfast, lunch and snacks to work - but i do indulge a little bit over the weekend. and im still gonna go to the gym cause my DH goes almost everyday, so he helps to motivate me

an extra 21 pounds on me would not look pretty on me lol

Um, no, I won't be falling into that category. I guess maybe 'on average' that could be correct, depending on where people start. Seeing as I only lost maybe 3 or 4 lbs for the wedding, it would be pretty bad if I put on 20. I'm also only 5'3, so 20 lbs on me is a LOT different than on someone who's 5'10.

Regardless, aside from the honeymoon (where I still didn't eat that bad) I'm going to continue to eat healthy and go to the gym. There is no reason to put on weight just because you're married.

For me, 21 pds would be ALOT... since the wedding day, i've gained about 8-10 pds... i like the extra weight but it never does go to the right places does it?!?

I would be horrified. Even though I'm 5'11', 21 pounds is still a lot!

happened to me - but I also think it had a lot to do w/ being unemployed - if I had still been working & active I dont think that would have happened. Trying really hard to get it off now for my TTD shoot with the amazing Amanda Picone!

I can see that being true... I'm sure every person says this, but I don't think I'd fall into this category at all lol. I've stayed pretty much the same exact weight for years now. As soon as I feel my jeans starting to get even a little tight, I cut back because that's my warning sign.

I totally think not only is it possible, it's probably happening to me.

(I'm ok with it... it won't be forever.)

I gained 8 lbs on the HM and another 4 lbs since then, easily, from our most recent trip.

It took me 3 years to lose 45 lbs originally and as long as I don't go crazy, I should still be better off than when I didn't care about my body, plus I'm so much more active and eat so much smarter than I used to. I have way more faith in myself than ever before, and confidence. Being overweight my whole life, I no longer see it as a disease, but just a life challenge I'll always be up for.

But 21 lbs average sounds right to me.

Re: HOLY - What do u think

I don't see that as farfetched, but for me personally I think it would not happen. Even though I've been whining about my belly lately, I know my weight didn't change much, I always fluctuate within 5 pounds anyway. I luckily have good genes and a naturally fast metabolism so I'm generally slim, so if I gained 21 pounds it would probably be because of something medically wrong.

Re: HOLY - What do u think

I think its is very skewed way of looking at it. Think about it.....most brides will diet like crazy so they are at their thinnest for the weddings. So is the 21 lbs from the wedding day weight or your normal everyday weight.

Most times when you lose weight for an event the weight will come back right after and I think this is what happens to most brides so the 21lbs they gain is in reality probably bring them back to their 'normal' weight or close to it.

I just hit my 1 year and I am the same as I was on my wedding day and the same I have been for the past 2 years....I lost my weight to change my life and never look at it for any one day.

Well I gained 35 so I am certainly helping that average.

But lets see where I am on the one year mark. I am dropping steadily now.

That is a lot of weight in my opinion. I could not imagine gaining that much weight.. Although when you think about it it is only about 2 lbs/year. I will think of that next time I consider eating that extra cookie
