HOLY - What do u think

Original post by VickiR510

Its is said that within teh first year of marriage the average woman gains 21 lbs.

So ladies what do u think? Do you see yourself as one that will never allow that or can you see yourself slipping & gaining weight??

For me my health & working out is a priority. Its a lifestyle for me & not something i have to do. I enjoy working out & running & could never give it up. I eat right all week & allow myself to indulge a bit on weekends. But for me NO WAY! We shall see when little ones are in the mix. Thank goodness for the babysitting at the gym. lol

I just wanted to add a couple of things. When I posted my original response I think i said something about that being crazy. For me, it would be crazy because I am a midget basically. BUT that doesnt mean that its not possible. Actually, I was about 30 pounds heavier than I am now at one point. I had a rough patch and food became my answer. Every woman is different. We all deal with different things in our day to day lives. Some of us have had VERY stressful years and I am sure that this contributes to weight gain/ loss. I was thikning about some of our reactions and I realized that who the heck cares how much weight we gain or lost?! We are strong, beautiful wonderful women with husbands who loves us very much REGARDLESS of our weight. For me, I have always struggled with my weight and body image and it will always be a huge part of my life. BUT I don't think that if you gain weight you don't care about what you look like or your health. I think sometimes these thigns have to get placed on the back burner because we are dealing with more difficult issues. Does that make sense?

I don't know just felt like adding.

Just for the record. This post (thread) was never an intention to make anyone feel bad about themselves wether being body image or any other issue. As we all know NONE of us are perfect in anyway. This post was to see if most women agree with this study & how a healthy lifestyle may fit into their newly married lives. I certainly hope no-one was made to feel insecure or unhappy. I think i have stressed to mostly everyone on this board that no-matter what, we are all beautiful & that we should be most thankful to have mobile & healthy bodies. I think overall im an advocate for health not vanity.

XOXOXO To all my LIW ladies. - Just sayin.

Of course! i wasnt posting this in response to your thread...i was just thining about the overall study and all! I certainly didnt take any offense

OH no i know Lauren. lol I just wanted to clarify in case anyone else did. XOXO

I know I didnt take offense to the post. I just wanted to show that there are other issues to gaining weight after being married other than just simply 'letting yourself go' thats all.

I gained about 9 lbs since the wedding but honestly I gained 6 of it on my HM and just never got rid of it. . . I work out steadily and love it and still eat very healthy i am just soo prone to weight gain. Part of it is just having to eat out for work ALL the time. . I try to make good choices but even the good choices are awful!

I didn't gain that much weight! Maybe like 2 pounds? But I've lost it all and then some in the last couple of months. Trying to get a flat tummy for my upcoming Bpics.
