Hosting the Holidays....???

Well Newlyweds.....since the Holiday's are Rolling around...what if any holiday/s will you be hosting at your place????

We haven't discussed anything yet, but we both have off for Thanksgiving, so maybe we'll do that one.

(Not sure if this has been asked before/I tried to do a search to see)

I don't think we'll host any holidays this year or for the next few years (probably not till we have kids). I'd actually really like to get away for the holidays just the two of us but we'll see.

we're jewish so dh knows i like the big holiday dinner. we made it a tradition since we got married...for hanukkah i want to make a big dinner. his parents come over. we pull out the china. then after dinner, we do presents

when we have family of our own, we'll host the holidays. But for now, its just too complicated. My parents divorced, so we have both sides that we like to see. ANd then we have DH family who we like to see. I don't have the room for that many people, and I can't leave anyone out.

I plan on cooking for my husband and our children. We live downstairs from my in-laws, so if they wanna stop in, their more then welcome. But it's most un-likely, because my MIL always hosts. Oh well.

Last year DH and I spoke to our families and told them that we felt it would be important for us to host a holiday. Our families decided that we could host Thanksgiving. We hosted it last year and had a great time...
This year neither my family nor his family are going to be able to make it so we are very disappointed that our tradition was so short lived!

since we moved to CA, i don't think we'll be hosting any holidays this year!

we'll probably just have thanksgiving with just the two of us... and we're headed back to NY for christmas.
