Re: How did you remain calm on your big day

It's the weirdest thing but on the morning of my wedding I was so calm. I guess you just know that by this point everything that's been done is done nnd know you trust in your vendors, bridal party, etc. all you think about that day is marrying your sweetie!

me too, I never had one nervous moment. I also was talking to DH on the 2-way most of the morning, so maybe that helped.

Re: How did you remain calm on your big day

I was very calm. Didn't think I would be, but I was. It probably helps to make sure everything is done by the time the week of the wedding rolls around. We had all sorts of favors to tie and seating chart to do, not to mention picking up from the airport, etc. That all freaked me out a bit. But in terms of taking care of you personally, you should make sure you get plenty of sleep the night before and make sure you eat something!!

Re: How did you remain calm on your big day

I was so nervous leading up to the day, all the anticipation and worrying about everything. But when the day finally came it was like I was just taken in by the moment and calm as a cucumber. When I realized it was MY WEDDING DAY, I became the Calmest person out of everyone. Don't worry. You are so nervous now, but when the big day is here you will just be taken in by it all and the excitement will overshadow any nerves you both may have!!

Re: How did you remain calm on your big day

I have to agree with everyone. I was a nervous wreck during the days leading up to the wedding, but on the day of I was fine. It was freaky! I couldn't believe how laid back I was and neither could anybody else. Since all the hard work was done, I guess I realized that there was nothing left to do but have fun!
You'll be the same way I'm sure

Re: How did you remain calm on your big day

I experienced the same thing as everyone else! I was so nervous about the wedding day and more nervous about physically walking down the aisle!! But, when the day came, I was so calm - I was so happy. It was wonderful

Re: How did you remain calm on your big day

For the most part I was ridiculously calm..I think it felt very unreal. I slept like a log the night before and the only time I guess I felt 'nervous' was up on the altar saying the vows, but that was more stage fright than anything else. I really think the best way to keep calm is to remember that it's one day in the rest of your life with your FI. And trust me whatever happens or goes wrong (and something will, trust me), it just makes the wedding that much more yours. Enjoy and congratulations!!

Re: How did you remain calm on your big day

Wow, am I the only one who wasn't calm? I was so nervous I was shaking before walking down the aisle. Of course I finally calmed down, but I was soo nervous about being the center of attention and all that. But it looks like I'm in the minority, so you'll be fine!!
Just wanted to add that I was only nervous at the church. I had soo much fun at the reception, didn't worry about a thing and danced the night away!

Re: How did you remain calm on your big day

I was also calm, I remember my SIL telling me I was too calm. My answer was... if it is not right we would not be at this moment of getting married. However, when I went to walk down the aisle, I never saw the chapel filled with so many people and there was a camera in my face. It seemed like a dream in slow motion. But I was relatively calm the day of and leading to the day of the wedding.

Re: How did you remain calm on your big day

I woke up that morning so happy, calm, and content. Yes, I felt excited too, but for some reason I could relax and just really enjoy the day.

Re: How did you remain calm on your big day

1. Don't forget to breathe! DEEP breathing.

2. Delegate authority! Do not micromanage on your big day. Let people take care of you. They want to help!

3. If something goes slightly awry, try your best to laugh it off, and then forget about it as soon as possible.

4. Be sure to eat breakfast! Don't alter your breakfast routine at all, if possible (the wedding day is NOT the day to give up coffee or make any other big changes).

5. Try to take some time for yourself the night before the wedding. Watch a movie or take a bath!

Of all of these, numbers 2 and 3 are the most important...

...you will have a fun and beautiful day!!!!!!!!

Re: How did you remain calm on your big day

I was fine the day before and was really bad the morning of my wedding. I am very organized and like things to remain on schedule...my hair girl decided to take a client before my 10am appointment so she was running behind which made me mad...my cousin's hair girl was behind too so it made me late getting back to my house where my makeup girl was waiting...she was quick and it looked beautiful...just as she finished my photographer showed up early and I didn't even have my gown on!!! By now I was freaking out!!! So my MOH and a BM got me dressed and when I walked down the stairs everyone was like OOOHHHHH and I started crying!!!

I also cried as I walked down the asile (the music makes me cry no matter who is getting married) and also cried again when my brother gave a speach and when I danced with DH for the first time and also when I danced with my step dad...

DH makes fun of me everytime we watch the video because as I am crying on the tv and I crying in person too

That was me too a T. Nothing fazed me the day of, even the bad stuff.
The flower girls parent's car broke down and I was so calm about it, went up to the limo driver and asked if he could go get them and come back for us. Everyone else was freaking out and I was totally in control.

Re: How did you remain calm on your big day

I was pretty calm leading up to it. had some last-minute stuff to keep me occupied (cause procrastinating some seating arrangements - I recommend not doing this lol) - but everything was pretty well set. I think the last-minute tasks kept me from being nervous, since i was busy and couldn't dwell on things out of my control.

I was fine until that morning driving to the hall to get dressed there, i started to get all emotional. Like 'wow, this is my wedding day'. not like nerves, just the gravity of it all. kind of like when people cry during their vows, i was doing it then.

then had another couple of times like that getting ready - when i stop and thought about everything. Key point - have great girls who will know to shoo people away (videographer, photographer) so you can get air and regain your composure :)

But the rest was smooth sailing - was so calm when it came to the aisle. Was just excited for it to happen!
