HonestlY i didnt cry once during my whole day. Just lots of laughing even through the DJ fiasco. My MOH and my BP along with the bestman handled everything. They were a big reason I didnt breakdown

Re: How did you remain calm on your big day

I wasn't nervous about getting married, just a bit of stress with the timing of everything.

One funny thing happened... we lived in Boston at the time, and had loaded everything into our car and were staying at our hotel for a few days before. The night before, DH left to stay with his brother where all the guys were meeting, and as I'm unpacking a bag and laying things out, what do I find but the envelopes with all the tip money! So the next AM I'm a bit stressed about getting the money to DH and his brother to hand out - had to get word to MY brother to come get the envelopes to hand off.

DH was so relaxed he was hanging out in front of the church socializing where the priest found him and told him it was almost time - get to his place at the alter. He said he'd be there in a few minutes and the priest said NOW - the bride will be here any minute! The priest also told him if he changed his mind the back door would be unlocked and their was beer in his fridge upstairs But they've been friends for awhile so he was just teasing.

Re: How did you remain calm on your big day

I was super calm. I scheduled a horseback riding lesson for the Friday before, that Saturday I got my mani/pedi. I had dinner with my parents and DH's family and then went home and went to bed. I slept well and had a calm wedding day.

I do think a lot of my calmness can be attributed to the fact that I knew that I wasn't moving out yet. I slept in my bedroom of 28 years and all of my stuff was still on the shelves and nothing was packed because we are staying with my parents for the next two weeks until we got to closing on our condo.

I will be a nervous wreck and bawl like a baby the day I move out, though....

Re: How did you remain calm on your big day

I took a warm bath first thing in the morning. The night before I took a benadryl to help me sleep. That day I was so happy that I had no time to be nervous. And make sure that you and bridal party eat on your big day. You'll be just fine.
