I'm just curious because I always wanted to have 1 biological and 1 adopted child, dh feels the same way, we really think is the right thing to do and we're both crazy about kids and would love to give a great life to one that wouldn't be so fortunate elsewhere. My dad completely supports and encourages our choice, my mom is not too fond of the idea, dh's parents say whatever we want. Well, anyways, just wanted to see what you guys think of it... Yes, I do have a little Angelina's inside of me but too bad we don't have the same bank accounts!

Re: How do you feel about adoption?
Also the only reason I do want one biological child is because I do want to experience the whole pregnancy thing but other than that I'm 100% on adoption's side. I also respect people that do IVF but that's something I wouldn't do because there ARE risks, also very $$$$ and dh and i rather give a child a home that wouldn't normally have and doesn't interfere with nature.

I think its a great idea. My dh and his sister were both adopted from 2 different families as infants. Dh's biological parents were 15.

my sister did IVF. she was the type who should have had 10 babies and couldn't have ANY naturally, and she wanted nothing more than to have her own child. IVF made her and the rest of us who finally got to see her pregnant VERY happy. So I wouldn't look at it as interfering with nature; there are lots of things that interfere with nature that we do anyway to make us happy and feel better about ourselves. and while I think it's great when people want to adopt since there are so many needy kids out there, not everyone feels the same way about adoption.
my friend feels the same as you; she is pregnant with her first and swears she will adopt her second one which I think is great but I'm really curious to see if that's what happens for the reasons Mulligan mentioned. I'm not sure what I would do if I couldn't have my own; I don't think I could say until I'm in the situation.

I think adoption is wonderful. My grandmother had one biological child and adopted 4 children! I would love to have biological children and possibly adopt too!
I feel the same way as well! I would like to adopt as well as have a few bio children. To me race is not an issue. So I hope t be able to adopt in this country, because we have a half a million kids in the system as we speak. I want to do my part to decrease that number!

Re: How do you feel about adoption?
DH & i don't want children...but we decided if we ever changed our minds that we would like to adopt a toddler or older child or two to give them the chance of a better life. I think adoption is great!

Re: How do you feel about adoption?
I think adoption is a beautiful choice whether you can biologically have children or not. It is the greatest gift to be able to give a child a loving home and a good life that they might not otherwise have had. I'm all for it and would totally adopt a child or two.

Re: How do you feel about adoption?
My father was adopted and I totally agree. Its the best thing b/c you might not be your biological children but they are still your children. Plus, they were picked. How loving does that feel!

Re: How do you feel about adoption?
Did you ever read Anne Of Green Gables? I read it and have wanted to adopt ever since. I have a friend who was adopted at 5 years old. She was loved by her adoptive parents just the same as their biological children and she has NO desire to find her biological father, her mother died (thus causing her father to put her up for adoption)

I am all for it. There are so many children in this world that need a loving home and deserve one.

Re: How do you feel about adoption?
It just disturbs me that there are many children without families. Then you have another section of children with unstable family situations.it's sad that we can't chose our parents/environment.Some children really get the raw end of the deal. And that's why if we can make a difference we should try
