send Thank You Cards? & Did you all have your Photographers do them or did you make them on your own?
TIA

Re: how long after the wedding do you
I sent to my guests after 3 months. I'm still writing out vendor thank you's but I'm probably only sending a few, that's all I have left over.
I did the traditional wallet slip-in type, I liked that better so family can save the wallets if they want.

Re: how long after the wedding do you
depends is it included in your photography package? if so then you get your proofs and pick out your thank you pic asap once you get them back write them out ASAP! I sent my out with in on month of being married but that is because my photographer was fast.
Nothing bugs me more then waiting over a year to get a thank you.

Etiquette dictates that you have up until a year after the wedding to send your Thank you's........I'm ordering the picture from my photographer.

We haven't picked out our picture yet. As long as you get them out in less than a year you're ok.....i want to try and get them out before 6 months.

Re: how long after the wedding do you
Took me almost 3 months.....We got married Labor Day weekend and got our TY's out by Thanksgiving weekend - that was the goal I set for myself. We did the typical picture inserted into monogramed TY cards.
But timing really all depends on when you get your proofs.... sometimes they can take longer than you expect. And then trying to choose one can take time too. Good Luck!

That is actually not the 'true' etiquette...Its whats become acceptable now because people are sending photo thank you cards more and more but true blue etiquette according to the hardcore Miss Manners types is 2 weeks after your honeymoon, all thank you cards to guests who attended the weddign should be in the mail. You have between one month and three months with the 'grace period.' But they are talking about the tarditional plain handwritten ty cards.
GUESTS are allowed to send a gift up to a year and as a result, if you're sending a ty for a gift then you send that ty when you get the gift BUT you should send a ty for attending.
But again, photo ty cards take longer which is why now its accepted to take as long as a year but that is not the correct etiquette.
We sent ours out within 2 months. ETA: We did our own. Its in my albums under our name.

Re: how long after the wedding do you
I sent mine out 2wks later. Then again there were only 35 people at my wedding. I *believe* you have up to 1 yr but most do it with in the first 3months.

Re: how long after the wedding do you
i always thought you had up to 6 months. however, my lazy arse sent my TYs at the 8 month mark.
i felt really bad about it so i highly suggest getting them out of the way asap.- Preferrably within 6 months.
be careful! time flies by! six months will creep up on you!

Re: how long after the wedding do you
It took me 5 months to get them out. My photographer threw in 100 free thank you pics so I took him up on the deal instead of spending more money on different cards. Plus I like that everyone gets a picture.

Re: how long after the wedding do you
We sent ours out by the 6 month mark but we were waiting for our photog to give them to us. We had the wallet size ones made so our family and friend can have a pic. But I think 6 months should be the limit with sending but I also heard up to a year.

Re: how long after the wedding do you
We did not to photo thank yous. We bought ones that matched our invitations (just a simple card with 'Mr. & Mrs. X' on the front, blank inside). I got most of them out within two months of the wedding. The rest out before the 3 month mark. I have a few others that I still need to do (gifts that came recently, or to those who brought no gift, and our vendors). I can't tell you how good it felt to get them out the door though. Such a weight lifted!

Re: how long after the wedding do you
i sent mine out 4 months after the wedding.. and i think i was ahead of most people. I rarely get a thank you after a wedding earlier than 6 months.
