send Thank You Cards? & Did you all have your Photographers do them or did you make them on your own?

i am still kind of debating which picture i wanna use in the thank you cards... so yeah, we havent sent ours yet... we havent told the photog which one we're using yet, so we didnt even get the cards from him yet.... so it's gonna be a little while still before we get them out

We started writing them last night. We made them up ourselves from vistaprint. I had the goal of getting them out before the postage rate change on May 12th (2 months after our wedding), but my DH bought Forever stamps, so now I don't have my self-imposed deadline anymore.

i just got my TY's back a week ago.. got married in Dec.. so i have to get started and write them all!
it all depends too on when you get your proofs and when you pick your pictures to put on the TY's.. then they have to make them up.. that took another month for me... so its a process!!

Honestly, you should get them out ASAP. I got them out within three months but only because it took about two months to get my proofs, pick out the thank you, get them printed, write them out etc.
It is something you are supposed to start once you get back from your HM really but of course most women now wait for the picture.
As Jen mentioned before, that one year rule applies to giving GIFTS after the wedding and it has nothing to do with the thank you - not sure how that one got twisted around somewhere along the way but its a very popular misconception.

i say the sooner the better- it took us about 3 months but thats because we waited for our proofs...i wrote the thank you cards however in august (we got married in july) and just waited to get the proofs back

I still haven't finished sending them out. I sent out the majority in the 1st 3 months. I just got back into the groove and sent out about 20 more last week. Only a few more to go. I will finish by this weekend (this is my goal)
