How long did you 'DATE' your hubby or wife before meeting the PARENTS/Family? How did it happen?

Hmmm......It had to be around the first week of dating.

He invited everyone to a BBQ at his house with a couple friends and in walks his mom, dad, sisters and brother - in -law early from a party they went too.

It was very spontaneous because it wasn't planned for us to meet.....but everything went well and we chatted and talked to a few hours after that night......we had a good time..

I was invited to dinner a week later and attended his cousins wedding 2 months later....

The rest is history.....

i met his parents before i met him! lol
i worked with his dad, and met his mom at our company 'holiday party'. his dad set us up.

My parents he met right away, (I live next door to them!)
I met his family fairly quickly, maybe 2 weeks? I'm not exactly certain, can you believe I don't recall?!

I met his parents 3 days after meeting him and the rest of his immediate family a few weeks later at a birthday celebration dinner at a restaurant.

I met his parents a week after first meeting my husband. We had a fishing date and we dropped by their house afterward. I smelled like low tide ha ha

I think we were together almost a month - I met them at a bbq at his brother's house (i had met BIL & SIL already). I remember I had just spilled hotdog juice all over me as his mom walked into the kitchen to say hello!

I met his father the same day I met him. We all worked together at a trade show. My mother was also at the trade show so he met her the same time he met me.

Technically our first date was a month and a half after that, when I came to St. Louis to see him. I met the rest of his family the second day I was there. We all went out for his sister's birthday.

For the next few months we would travel and meet each other in different cities...Baltimore, New Orleans, Williamsburg VA. So he didn't meet the rest of my family until after about three months, the first time he came to NY to see me.

We dated for a year before I met his brother & wife (our BM MOH) at a hockey game ... And it was probably the following Thanksgiving before I met his whole family. I believe I met his mother for the first time the July in between the two when I was hanging out of the car, throwing up in the driveway (I know, nice, huh? What are ya gonna do?)

And I honestly cannot remember when he met my parents for the first time ... I'll have to see if he remembers.

He met my dad about 8 months after we started to date at Thanksgiving dinner, my dad was sick at the time, so that is what took so long for them to meet. They did talk on the phone a few times before the dinner and they liked each other. Fathers will be fathers and of course no one was good enough for his little girl.... but he turned to me one day and told me this is the man you are going to marry. I am glad he told me that because he pased away , and I knew I had his blessing. I met his family about 4 months into our relationship, and we all got along so well, they tell me I am the sister they never had- he has 3 other brothers and his mom calls me her daughter she never had.

I met his family 4 months into the relationship and he met mine after 8....I wanted to make sure he was the 'one' before he met my parents. They are old-school and the only man you bring home is the one you are going to marry.

He met my parents about a week into dating. I didn't meet his parents until after we moved in together. Don't ask...they are just weird and didn't want me over until they got a new carpet in their house .

My DH's parents are divorced. I met my FIL after about 3 months of dating when we went to his house for the weekend and I first met my MIL after about 9 months of dating. She lives in NC so it was when she came up to NY to visit.

He met my parents after about a month of us dating!

I knew IL's for 10 years before we started dating.

i met my mil a few months after i met my dh she lives in florida and was up visiting and was staying at my dh grandmothers house and i came by for a visit with him. his grandmother whom he lived with and who is like his second mother i met a few days after a met him. she was the one that i had to impress because she was the most important woman in his life. i told her at our wedding that she will always be his number 1 girl and she almost cried

I was living in Manhatten and he was living in Queens. We'd been dating about 2 weeks if that, and were on LI. His pager went off (before cell phones were prevalent) and it was his brother - his grandfather had died and the family was all gathering at his house, about 15 minutes from where we were. So, we dashed there, because he didn't have time to bring me back to Manhatten, then come all the way back to Shirley.

So I met the whole clan at a most inopportune time - fortunately I had a good book in my bag and I spent several hours reading and staying out of the way while they worked out the immediate details.

Oh My God!
Same thing here! I knew his dad first, met his mom before we started dating....and although his dad tried to set us up, it was my husband who made the first move!

We were dating 5 months when I met his WHOLE family at his niece's sweet 16 party. His whole family being mom, dad, 2 BIL, 2 Sisters (The only time I met one of them, she passed away a few months later), and 2 nieces. I was sooooooooo nervous! I don't remember the circumstances of when he met my family.

I met his mom witha few weeks of dating, he took me to a cousins house and she was there, then within three months of dating we drove his moms truck to Florida and I met his sistera nd many many of his cousins. I think they all thought I was just another girlfriend, but they were very very nice to me!! He didnt meet my parents until 7 months after we were engaged! He met my sisters and brothers right away(as soon as we got serious)
