like niecey, rented for about 6 mths following the wedding and then bought a house in east meadow!

we bought our house before we got married, and moved in on the day we got engaged (to my surprise) - we currently live in Coram but are moving to Pt Jeff.

We just bought a house in North Babylon. We moved in with his parents after the wedding (they made up the apt for us). We barely paid rent. We figured we would stay there a year or two. Lo and behold, we ended up finding something a lot sooner. We got married in May of 2002, went into contract on the house in November of 2002 and moved in in March, 2003 (holidays held everything up).! :)

Its possible, do not lose faith. We thought we would NEVER have the downpayment and be able to afford a house. Somehow we found one! And a pretty decent one at that! The key, is get a house with an apt. (for rental)! He is paying practically all of our mortgage every month.! The only way we were able to do it.
