How many newlywedes own a home

My new husband and I are looking to buy a home. Everything out there is sooo expensive. I was just wondering how many of you rent vs owning a home. If you do own a home, what town.

I owned my home with no mortgage before I met my DH. He owned his co-op which he has since sold. He moved in here a few months before the wedding & we are planning to put an extention on the house next year.
The house is in Huntington Station.

We use to rent in Setauket. We looked in the area when we were ready to buy but everything was very expensive. So we bought a house in Selden in June. We are going to wait a couple of years to see what happens with the price of real estate. We would like to move to Northport in the next couple of years.

we will soon own a condo (in CA), but our condo is the same price as my sisters house in Northport and hers is probably double the size... but I have tons of amentities that go along with it...so I guess it evens out...

we own our home in East Norwich (well Chase Mortgage will actually own it for 20 years before we 'own' it) . Our home was an investment we made before we even got engaged.

My DH owns a house with his sister in the Bronx on the Yonkers border. He's going to sell it soon, though, and we'll buy our 'own' house after that.

We continued to rent for about 7 months after our wedding and now own a home in Bellmore. We planned on renting longer (for atleast a year) but found our home pretty quickly - sooner than we expected.

I owned a condo a year prior to the wedding and DH moved in with me to help save money for the wedding, and plus I liked living with him We then sold the condo and purchased a home in Ronkonkoma.

I had owned a home in Selden and my Hubby had also owned before we got married. We both sold our homes and are building here upstate. I would have never been able to do that on Long Island the houses are so expensive. Upstate here you can get a pretty big house for about $70,000. We only decided to build because of the land we liked and it had no house on it.

When we got married we owned in Selden, sold 2 months after tht wedding and bought in Merrick. We just sold that house and bought one in Bellmore.
