So, I was wondering if any of you ladies are truly happy at your jobs.
Last September, I got a new boss. My former boss was amazing and I really took it for granted that he would be here forever. I really enjoyed comingto work every day.
These past few months have been really hard with this new job and with the economy the way it is, I wonder if things just roll downhill and that's why I'm so miserable.
I wonder if I should just take a chance and find a new gig OR grin it and bear it till the economy is better...
Are you all happy with your jobs? Or do you wish you were working somewhere else?

Thanks!!
I think it is hard to be happy in the place that you are in... unless it is truly what you want to be doing.

I hate, hate, hate my job....with a passion. I have a masters degree and am having a lot of trouble finding a job in my field so it's just frustrating being here when I know I'm wasting time that could be used futhering myself in my real career

Re: How many of you are TRULY happy at your job?
I do like my job. It's not the line of work I would imagine myself doing, but I like the atmosphere and the perks.
I come in, chill out for a bit, eat breakfast in the lunch room with everyone. Talk about shows and other things, read magazines. Then I can mosey on into my office and take my time with some projects. I get what needs to be done quickly, and then I even have weeks where I don't have anything coming in.
I get to drive all over, and get out of the office every now and then. Yesterday I had to go to the KEw Gardens Supreme Court house and that was fun. IT was nice out so I didn't mind going. I get to go upstate to the Judicial Institute to just help people sign in for CLE next week. And I just sit there all day on my laptop until it's over.
I really like the perks, but I don't know if law is something I would be interested in making a career out of. I would like to possibly get into becoming a psychologist. After reading all of these cases about the people we are helping and how they are treated in these facilities, it makes me want to understand how people end up this way and why.

I really like what I do but the negative energy and the sneaky nature of people I work with makes me so unhappy. I work at a place where all of a sudden, it's a male driven workplace and it's so frustrating.

I like my job. I HATED my last job. So I def appreciate my job more because of that. I wouldnt say I LOVE it because its not like its a fun time and Im doing what i love. but I need to make a pay check and being a broke actress doesn't pay well. LOL. But I like the people I work with and for. And the work is pretty easy.

Re: How many of you are TRULY happy at your job?
the place where I worked in New York before the wedding was really good. I worked so closely to good friends and had a great time pretty much every day. That doesn't mean that I was EXCITED to go in each day, but I didn't ever dread it either. It got kind of worse though when we moved to a new building. The supervisor got too much up our butts and was even mean to us a lot. It caused soooo much stress in the work place. But it still wasn't as horrible as it could have been.
Obviously i'm in Colorado now and away from that job. I still get kind of homesick for it and fear that i'll never find anything as good (mostly b/c of all the friends I had there). I was also in charge a lot and got to do most things MY way (which meant lots of fun for all of us. lol). I'm out of work right now tho and looking around at different places. i'm nervous

when you have great friends at the workplace, it really makes a difference! All my good friends have left because they cannot handle this new boss

Re: How many of you are TRULY happy at your job?
I've never really had a job I loved. I had jobs I was happy AT - because the environment, people, policies were pretty good - but liking the JOB I did was a different story. I guess I had one that was ok, but at the time, I didn't think so. I should have stayed at that job longer but was in a rush to get out for some reason - honestly, besides there being no growth for me really (they may have been, I didn't look too hard), I don't know why I left.
This new job is ok so far. Slowly I am getting work which is good - they are not throwing me into things. People seem nice, policies seem reasonable and fair, pay is ok. (not what i wanted, but decent)

I love my job. I do my work and go home. I could never work somewhere where I had to bring my work home with me or stay late to 'finish up'
I do a lot of work, but it will be there in the morning. And the leave is so flexible, its ridiculous.
Sure I could find some stuff to complain about, its a bit boring - some of the promotion policies arent fair. . but honestly, I dont think I could ever find a better place to work!

That's awesome. It's good to hear about people working in a positive enviroment.
