I am trying to cut back. It's HARRRRD. At home, when I make my own tea, I have been using a tbsp and a half - give or take. At work, I tried getting away with 4 packets - which is 1 tsp - but I cannot. I need at least 5, 6 would be better. I don't think that's a LOT - I mean, one teaspoon? - but people hear 5 packets and they flip. It's actually only 20 calories - I looked it up on google (1 packet = 1 gram of sugar = 4 calories -- so 4 packets is 16 calories, 5 is 20).
What do you use? Are you trying to cut back because sugar just isn't good for you?
In my coffee - WHEN i drink it (rare) - I'll use a LOT MORE. I prefer tea but sometimes coffee is all I can get, or needed to wake up.

i guess i'm lucky I don't like things super sweet; you can't win though - I take NO sugar in my coffee or tea and people are like ewww how can you drink it without sugar
I guess sugar is no good for you but if you don't have issues (like high blood sugar levels) then anything in moderation is okay.

I actually don't take any sugar in my coffee - I know, I am weird I grew up always drinking sips of my parents' coffee, and neither of them take sugar so that's what I like now. If there is even 1 granule of sugar I cannot drink it Yucky! I just take milk or half and half.

I used to drink my tea with 1 or 2% milk. However, DH's family only uses half and half at their house ... so years ago, when we started going there for Sunday dinner almost every week (miss that - they live in FL now), I would have to use half & half .. and now I cannot use milk. Even whole milk tastes like water compared to the half and half. I only use a little though.

Re: How much sugar do you take in your coffee/tea??
I don't drink coffee. But, when I am in the mood for it I will ask for it light and sweet lol I don't even know how to make coffee. :( I did it a few weeks ago when my mom came to visit, but I screwed it up even then haha
However much DD puts in my coffee cup, is however much sugar I take lol
But, when I do drink tea, I like to use only honey, and I probably use a tsp of that.

In hot coffee, no sugar a little bit of whole milk In hot tea, 1 teaspoon sugar and some lemon
Iced coffee and iced tea, about 1 to 2 teaspoons sugar, depending upon the size of the glass.
Hmmn, I though 1 packet of sugar equalled one teaspoon.

1.5-2 packets splenda and skim milk.
ETA: W/ tea just 1 pcked of splenda.
I'd use sugar, but I feel like i need 4-5 packets to get the sweetness of splenda.

If i drink a large iced coffee, i put about 25 packets of sugar, sometimes more, i like the sugar to sink to the bottom, and with each sip i like a mouthful of sugar
What does that make me?

I looked it up online and it said it's only 1/4 of a teaspoon. I thought it was a teaspoon too!! I was pleasantly surprised!!
