Hi girls, I have a close friend who had a destination wedding. I couldn't go but she was at my wedding. My question is should I give her the same amount as a gift that she gave me?

It's all up to your financial situation. Give what you can afford and you feel comfortable with.

just me, I would feel like I was returning her money that she gave me, so I would probably send a gift instead.
I usually send a gift when I dont attend a wedding- usually one of the nicer things on the registry- like between $100-$150- of course depending on my relationship with the person hth

I would def go for something that shes been talking about that she really wants off her registry! Of course it all depends on your financial situation, everyone is dif. Go with what you are comfortable doing.

def up to you in the end but we just recently gave 200 to DH's cousin. I would say atleast 150! HTH

I agree....that's nicer and more thoughtful than just returning the money she gave to you.

I, too, usually send a gift when I can't attend the wedding. Pick one of the nicer, more expensive items off of their registry. If you can afford it, give something comparable in price to what they gave you.

I agree. It's nice to send money but I like to send a gift if you're not going to the wedding. A lot of people that didn't come to my wedding sent giftcards which I thought was nice too.

Don't get me wrong, money is nice, but getting a gift is more fun IMHO. I would get them something nice off their registry or a nice sentimental gift like a picture frame or something. Thats just me though.
