we are just terrible.. and we must be wasting so much money on going out all the time..
our problem is... i go grocery shopping so i buy all the dinners for the week.. (meats, etc) BUT the night before we always forget to take it out of the freezer to defrost... we dont do this all the time.. but at least 2x a week, sometimes more
THEN we would just say.... oh screw it , lets go out and get something...

I would say we go out to eat 1 or 2 times during the week and then on Saturday. We have gotten a lot better!!!

We rarely go out any more...Maybe once or twice a month. We just can't afford to spend the money to eat out more than that. If one of us forgets to defrost some meat I will just make baked ziti with no meat or we will have spagetti with plain spagetti sauce. I also buy things that we can just heat up to eat so we can have that on days when we don't feel like cooking & days when we forget to defrost the meat. Another option we have is cold cuts. Nothing wrong with having a ham or turkey sandwich for dinner.

thats a good idea... we should start doing that... just having back up dinners ...lol it will save us money in the end!

usually we don't go out at all--except with friends on the wknds here and there.
but lately i've been lazy with work and stuff---tax season makes it harder for me to wanna come home and make a big dinner.
i've gotta get back on the dinner track!

We rarely go out anymore - we do one dinner date night a month and go out to eat which is nice. The other nights I cook, I try to cook for two days worth to make it easier. Then sometimes we'll order a pizza from Dominos (like 2 or 3 times a month and it's only like $15 so it's not bad).
When I'm tired, I just make pasta. And we buy a lot of cooked, ready to heat chicken (like popcorn chicken and bourbon chicken). Just literally take out of the freezer, put on a cookie sheet and heat in the oven for like 20 minutes. With some mashed potatos, rice, or pasta it's great and so easy.

We don't go out as much any more, maybe 2-3 times per month. It's usually Chez Susi 7 nights a week.
It's just too expensive to order out, especially now when everything else is getting more expensive, gas prices went up this morning again.
I've tried the Bertolli Frozen skillet meals - not bad. We had the shrimp scampi in creamy sauce over fettuccini. Could use some more shrimp and definitely can be stretched with some extra pasta, but in a pinch, it's good. Ready in 10 minutes. Waldbaum's had them on sale last week for $6.59. I've heard that BJ's has them at a good price as well. Not bad. Dinner for two for under $10.

we are a lot better than we used to be. i haven't calculated how much we were spending but I'm not sure I want to know.
lately though, we've been only out maybe 2-4 times per month, and some of that was b/c we had family or friends in town to see us.

we go out way too often, sometimes a few times a week. Lately I'm trying to be good and cook more often. I have the same problem where sometimes I forget to defrost the meat and then have nothing to cook.

This is so us And with 2 kids we waste soooooooo much money but iam definately trying we went out one day this week on monday to celebrate what we are having and hopefully that will be the only day

We like to go out to eat on the weekends. During the week usually I'll just have something simple, like pasta, or soup & salad, or chicken w/ vegetables. I don't like to spend much time cooking.

Same for us. We used to be the worst out about 5 times a week but now usually 2 times. Going out so much made me poor and fat.

Since we got engaged we go out only once every month if that. This month was a little different b.c it is was both my and dh birthday so in total we are going out 3x in Feb, Oh well that means we wont go anywhere in March.

When i forget to take meat out, i usually just throw it in the microwave but it never deforsts nicely, so I've been lazy lately, and just stop and pick up meat from the store that isn't frozen on my way home

I do the microwave defrosting too in a pinch. I try not to cook on friday and saturday. We either order in or go out, depending on our social plans. Sundays, I either cook or we go to one of our parents houses (I'm all about the latter). Cooking Mon-Thurs is enough for me.
