How was everyone's Valentine's Day??

We had a great 1st V-day as a married couple. My DH went overboard. He had roses sent to the house and bought me a beautiful bracelet that I have had my eyes on for awhile. He also made my breakfast in bed on Sunday. Here is a picture of the bracelet. How was yours???

We really don't celebrate V-day. This year we really didn't - I didn't get home from work until about 9:30pm and David didn't get home from school until 10:15pm.

So it was just kiss and good night.

DH had flowers sent to the house, I made dinner and he came home with this beautiful heart shaped cake from the bakery that he ordered.

Ours was very nice. W had a nice dinner and lots of love notes durng the day. Plus I got this in black. It comes in a few days He knows me so well

I hate to sound like a brat but I was kind of disappointed yesterday. I went shopping over the weekend to get DH a few gifts for VD (it's SO hard to shop for him since he has everything he wants).
All I got from him was something that he obviously picked up on the way home from work yesterday - a box of Godiva chocolates. Now, I LOVE Godiva but I give up chocolate every year for Lent! I didn't tell him that because obviously he didn't remember and I didn't want to make him feel bad.
He made me dinner which was sweet, but that's it! I was like, what, no flowers? No present?
I gave him all of his presents and he was pretty surprised that I did that much for him. He claims that he didn't know that VD was such a big deal! Uh, last year he bought me earrings and the year before that was a necklace. And BOTH times he bought me flowers! Why would he think this year, our first VD as a married couple, would be any different?!?!?

Sorry for my ranting; I just didn't feel very special yesterday. All we did was eat, he watched part of the dog show with me, and I went to bed - ALONE .
I know that VD isn't all about the gifts, but I wasn't expecting him to break the bank. Just a small little something, and not something as cliche' as chocolate (that I couldn't even eat!)

Thats ok, technically I didn't get anything yesterday either. I had bought myself chocolate since I knew I wasn't getting any yesterday.
Then his friend called at 10 pm. I'm like 'Who calls a couple at 10pm on Valentines Day????' I was so annoyed. We probably weren't going to do anything anyway since he was sick, but I wanted to snuggle and watch Medium together. SO instead I watched it all alone while he was on the phone for 45 minutes.

That is so sweet. What a gorgeous bracelet!
We went out to dinner at the Parkside (in Corona) and my DH got me a certificate to get a facial at my favorite place. I got him the Ray DVD.

Same here minus the Godiva chocolates. He made filet mignon and gave me a card, but I was kind of like where are my roses hiding? We were together 4 years before this and each year there were presents and roses. It's not the money, he stopped at Shop Right to get the filet mignon and I know they had a dozen roses for $19.99...I was sad.

I am glad to see everyone had a great valentine's day. I love that bracelet it is so pretty. My DH took me out to dinner where we went on our first date 6 years ago and bought me flowers , my gym membership and a figurine. It was a great first valentine's day together as husband and wife. I love hearing what everyone did, most of the guys got really romantic and thoughtful this year.

Princess, I'm sorry you were both sick & hope you are feeling better soon. My DH was VERY sick (so sick he had to be driven home from work in the city) on V-day 3 years ago when he proposed to me. We were both on the couch in our PJ's.

This year DH got me tickets to go see Mamma Mia and 2 DVD's (The Notebook & Ghost) and we also went out to dinner at a very nice place in Huntington (Panama Hatties) He was also off from work & got up in the morning & made me breakfast before I had to go to work (Pancake with a heart made with red icing on it)

We decided not to get gifts this year (well, I decided it after looking at our budget )
But I got him a card and some candy and made dinner for him, which was waiting when he got home.
And he bought me a rose and some chocolates and a sweet card

Then we watched tv together
it was a sweet, low key Valentine's Day - perfect

We just bought a house (last week!) in E. Northport so we need a car (we moved from the city). So, we went to dealerships on V day-the good news is we found a car! We had a quick dinner afterwards but it was late and we were both sleepy- but i got him cologne and he got me a gift certificate for a facial and manicure and he walked to my office and brought me flowers- a really nice day!

We had to work that night so we had dinner at home and then exchanged little gifts. Dh's birthday is Friday and mine is in March so we rather go overboard for Birthdays!!!
