Re: Hyperhydrosis

Hi!

I did botox under my arms and it was truly the best!!!! I am not a total sweat hog but I couldn't stand even a little bit!

It lasted about 10 months for me and it was covered by my insurance-all I paid was 2 copays. I went in and had to wait for the approval which took about a week or 2. It took affect about 3 days after (could take up to 2 weeks)

I changed insurance companies and you just reminded me I have to make an appointment

I have EXTREMELY sweaty hands. They sweat constantly regardless of the weather or my emotions! It's so annoying, I know what you mean. Anytime I touch anything I leave wet prints (really gross), and I'm embarrassed to shake hands with people! I never did anything about it though.
Thanks for the website, I'll check it out

Yep...I've had it since as long as I can remember. I sweat terribly from my hands and feet -- so bad that DH is always complaining how gross it is. My mom said that even as a baby my hands and feet were clammy.

On my wedding day, I KNEW my hands would be dripping during the ceremony, so I smothered my palms with baby powder beforehand and then tried carrying a tissue covered with baby powder with my bo-k...didnt do a DARN THING. My hands were still soaking wet and slimy at the altar.

My feet sweat so bad (especially in sandals) that i end up having to throw away shoes constantly because they get destroyed from the sweat. It makes my slippers, shoes, socks smell so bad too.

I've tried all sorts of tricks...nothing works, but i wont go on medication for it and surgery is out of the question. I've lived with it this long...mind as well just deal with it.

On An episode of Rich Bride, Poor Bride A bride was sweating profusely and the makeup artist told her botox is the trick. She couldn't finish her trial because she was so bad. She got botox done on her forehead. It seemed to work for her and she was happy.

i have the same thing, and it sux!! it could be like 2 degrees outside but i'll still have sweaty palms. i told my dermatologist this years ago and he prescribed me drysol which you put on your palms at night and cover your hands up with a plastic bag and for me, i stopped sweating for weeks at a time. i thought it was amazing!

Its also just my hands and feet. I was getting treatments using the fischer galvanics unit and they were working BUT it just cost too much and right now I can't afford to buy my own unit (they're about $700)

I tried the certain dry and drysol on my hands and feet (I'd put it on before bed and then wear socks and gloves) but it really stung!! and then it made them all red

I sweat under my arms only when its really hot out, BUT my hands and feet are soaked regardless of the temp outside!! My derm said that about 1 in 100 people have hyperhydrosis and about 1 in 50 have it as severe as I do!! I HATE IT
