I am feeling a little unsure of my proofs

I am feeling a little unsure of my proofs

I posted this on the 06 board and Sasha told me this was normal. While there are so many pics (and I love looking at them) I feel like they are missing something. I keep telling myself that is because they are raw and untouched. I have a ton of proofs and the discs with the negatives yet I am still a little upset. I don't know what is wrong with me.

Re: I am feeling a little unsure of my proofs

I felt that way too and I have over 1200 proofs. I am finally working on my album this week and it has been a lot better than I perceived it to be almost 6 months ago. I think they look better now than they did a while ago. I guess I am my own harshest critc and I did pick out the best 100 photos to narrow down. Sometimes time is a good thing.

I am hoping that once I organize all of the proofs and look at the pictures side by side, I will feel better. I mean, I am happy with most of the pictures, but I guess I expected more.

Re: I am feeling a little unsure of my proofs

I was trying to do a search for the countless posts on this topic, but work is actually making me work...and I can't seach right now. The nerve!

But yes, this is very normal...many of us wish we had different pictures, or a particular shot was missed, or we feel we don't have enough photos, etc. There are 'picture regrets' on this thread... and another unhappy bride... and I have to add, most of these girls have gorgeous pictures that I love...but we're our own worst critic. Another post... and another... and another... and a similar one...

Basically, you're not alone!

It's normal to feel like some things are missing;
I have about 600-800 and there is only 2 pictures of
my mom and dad together. Although I am soooo happy
with my proofs, this bothered me. Your feelings are normal!

Hollie, these pictures are awesome! I love them...and I wouldn't jsut say that.

There are no pics of my DH waiting for me at the altar...I love the one of yours. And I wish I had a picture of my placecard table, I had a gorgeous tall calla lily arrangement and no pictures of it. Your photographer did a great job.

You look gorgeous!!

Soooo romantic!!

Hollie I just looked at them- and they are so nice

but I think it's normal to feel this way

I made my album and used 65 pics and i had over 1000 to choose from- they aren't all going to be super- but from what you posted you have some amazing pics!!!

Re: I am feeling a little unsure of my proofs

When I got my proofs I though they were OK -- I was NOT in love at all!!! But, I picked up my album a few weeks ago and was in tears.....and some of the pics I thought were just OK came out great in the album. There are still a lot of pics that are missing (one of me with my siblings!!!! and some other random ones) But the album and big pics came out so much nicer than I had expected.

Hollie - Your pictures are gorgeous!!! Really! They capture everything they should and although I don't know you and your DH, I can see your personalities and the loved captured in those pictures.

i felt the same way. overall, the pics were gorgeous, but there were so many moments i didn't see captured and never will. thats okay - i had to keep telling myself 'they can't catch everything!' When you narrow it down to the best of the best and eliminate all the 'eh' ones, they will look so impressive. Give it time!

Re: I am feeling a little unsure of my proofs

Hollie, I absolutely love your pictures - you were a BEAUTIFUL bride, and it looks like your day was 100% stress free!

We all set these rediculously high expectations for our pictures (and why shouldn't we, with the money that we spend), and a lot of us go through this disappointment. But you should know that you have some truly beautiful pictures.

Re: I am feeling a little unsure of my proofs

Thanks ladies!

You have all helped me feel much better about my pictures. Overall, I love them and am happy that we have the shots we do. I am hoping that once we get our new computer (in the next week) and I can play with them I will feel even better.

I think the other thing was that we took a chance using a less known photographer and that worried me. In the end, it worked out.

Thank you ladies!!! You are the best!

i felt the same way. even now when i look at other brides pics, i think of all the pics i didn't get (i.e. getting ready pics, cool lighting pics) even though i had 1300. i think it's normal and i'm sure ur pics are beautiful!

They are gorgeous pics!!! Congrats!!!!

I can tell you I went through the same thing and I am sure its normal. You find yourself comparing yours to other peoples that you see....trust me you will get over that feeling soon.
