I had one of my girls try it on when we were looking at dresses. She is very busty and probably a size 8-10 in normal cloths, and she looked great in it, but the the dress its self didnt do anything for me. It is a thick material and come with detachable spegatti straps. Hope this helps

edited to say my BM had almost the same jim helm one too, minus the waist thingy and she is hippy. she looked great!

The dress is really pretty but that thin strap in the middle is not going to be very flattering IMO b/c its strapless, it needs to be really tight in the bodice.

Can you convince the bride to go with a thicker tie? I used one like this but it had a bigger sash that they tied themsevels so you could position it in a flattering spot as opposed to being attached to the dress.

The dress is very pretty, but b/c I am so short-waisted...the strap would hit at the WORST spot!

Try it on....you may be suprised....

If it's your hips you're worried about - the A-line might actually work to your advantage!

It's a beautiful dress and you'll look great....I'm in a bridal party too and our dress is a Jim Hjelm dess too. This is the dress: But our color is Navy Blue.

I am going to give MY opinion.

I love the dress!!!!!

IMO, strapless does not work on everyone.
I think you have to have a really toned upperbody- I will admit I do not and when I tried on strapless wedding gowns I did not like the way it looked on me.

As far as hips are concerned, I think with the proper foundations it could be fine.

Curly, I think that dress will be fine for hips (i know all about that problem) b/c it flares at the waste. I would suggest getting a size larger so it doesnt hug you there and then having everything else altered down.

I think the problem areas with that dress are boobs, arms and stomach...so if that is not a problem, then you have nothign to worry about.

Im sure thats not true!

Maybe try it on...maybe you will love it and then you wont have to stress. And if its a nice look, you could have it shortened to tea length and wear a million moretimes.
