I have no kitchen

I haven't been on in awhile, but I have a good reason!

About a week and a half ago, a gas line broke in my stove and hit the pilot light, causing flames to shoot up, destroying my kitchen.

DH is my hero ...it was about 1 am and luckily he was up...he immediately ran for a hose and doused the kitchen. What was scary was I was asleep and I didn't wake up from any of the noise.

I have a ton of water and smoke damage and I am cleaning the house daily. It is so disgusting. Most important though is that we are fine (DH had a burn on his forehead) and my cats are okay (except Tigger is gray and white from the soot).

I am kinda annoyed at my LL because he still hasn't shown up with the insurance adjuster and I have no kitchen and my house reeks of burnt plastic!

I also had my third epidural-I do feel better, but a little sore from having to clean!

So my BBQ has to wait since my kitchen is BBQ'ed!

Holy crap, that is scary!!!! Thank God your DH was awake and was able to get that under control!!!

I was just as surprised as well-very unlike Jeff!

Thank God he was up and able to take care of it. I hope you get everything sorted very soon.

You don't need a kitchen to party as soon as the smell goes away i'll be over.

Michelle, that is REALLY scary, who knows what could've happened if you were at work, or were both asleep!!!!!!!!!!! Thank God everyone's safe, any damaged can be repaired.

On a side note, I detest cooking and may have to work out a way for a similar event to take place in my kitchen. Safely, of course.
