I know there have to be some ppl who identify with me here...
Original post by Toucan311
I am totally disgusted with myself lately. I have leaped right off the back of the diet wagon. I just cannot get back into the swing of things. I used to be a WW lifetime member, and I am now 14 pounds over my goal weight, and a whopping 20 pounds over my lowest weight ever. I'm just so disappointed in myself I could cry. Not a single pair of my summer pants has fit me for the past two years. I just wear dresses and skirts! I don't even know what to do anymore. I'm thinking of going back to WW tomorrow, b/c I know they have a meeting in East Islip at 5pm, but I'm so embarrassed at how little willpower I've had.
I'm not the only one, right?

Today is day 1 of the diet the doctor put me on. Now I know that this is effecting my health so if this doesn't motivate me to do better, then nothing will

I totally understand. I cant fit into any of my clothes anymore and i refuse to buy new stuff. I know im not fat, but i just keep gaining weight. I havent really changed my diet, the only thing i can think is my metabolism must be slowing down. I know that i have to start working out but i just cant get the motivation to do it.

I have gained some weight since the wedding definitely .... not sure how much because I think for me, it's more that I lost muscle tone and gained cellulite and fat -- so the scale hasn't moved too much but I definitely see a difference in the way my clothes fit ... and I went to macys to buy clothes last friday night, and I was at the way my thighs looked. ripples galore. I don't really have time to work out now with the new job - well i guess i DO but I just don't want to. I quit the gym when I was out of work - I had no motivation to do anything and it was costing $$ that I didn't need to spend ... I wasn't going so I said, I'll quit. I should have just started GOING.
I am trying to eat better but I am ALWAYS hungry, and it's been so rainy - I would like to walk a few days a week after work but it's been so crappy out. I always seem to have to make a stop somewhere on the way home, and then I have to cook when I get home, or do laundry -- same old story right? I know everyone goes through this but for me it's really hard because I was off for 3 months. Getting back into the swing of working has been a shock to my system definitely. Adding exercise seems too hard right now but hopefully I can start doing it slowly, at least 2x a week ....
I feel you.

from the wedding until the we found out we were having a baby, i gained 20 lbs after i had gained about 10 lbs, i went back to WW, but i was NOT motivated, so i quit even though i had lost 6 lbs and was doing well. i need to be really motivated in order to lose weight. it's easy to come up with excuses, but we were fixing up our condo, house hunting, moved in w/ the ILs - just a lot of stuff going on that made it hard to cook at home and go to the gym. when we were packing up, i had all my work suits in size 4P and it depressed me so much. pre-pregnancy i was wearing size 8P-10P.
now i have some motivation to eat healthier, but i have no energy for exercise other than walking. luckily i've only gained 5 lbs so far, and the dr said i should only gain about 15 lbs since i was already overweight. i'm hoping the motivation will be there after the baby comes because i hated getting as heavy as i was. i was still 25 lbs less than my highest weight, but 30 lbs more than my lowest weight. my goal is to get back to my wedding weight some day.

You know what depresses me? I look at pictures of myself from 2006 & 2007 and I thought I was fat then I was perfect then.
I've been doing so much better with my eating and have tried hard to workout, but effing school and homework really get in my way. I cannot wait until it's over so I can focus hardcore on it again.

I am doing it at home. started yesterday again. I bought the WW scale when I was on it before so it is not as bad as making someont physically weight you.

for me, that was the biggest motivation to go and lose weight. when i first first started WW i hated getting weighed in, but then after like 3 weeks, it was the best part. i loved having someone congratulate me on losing one lb, so it kept me movtivated to keep losing so the weigh in person could say great job!

What is different about the WW scale?
It shows the oz. So your weight will say 125.5 instead of 125 or 126.

I hear you! I pulled out my Lifetime member booklet to go back to WW today, and I see that the last time I rejoined - when I thought I was absolutely disgusting - I was 10 pounds thinner than I am now! What I wouldn't give to be back there again!

I must have been on crack to think I was heavy then.

Re: I know there have to be some ppl who identify with me here...
I totally was feeling the same way in March. My jeans weren't fitting anymore and I was looking like a total sausage in them. Since the 2nd week of March I've lost 8.4 lbs. It's a slow process. My weight didn't come on overnight and it's def. not coming off overnight. Don't feel embarressed to go back to WW, everyone is there becasue we have issues when it comes to weight and food, we're all in the same boat.
