I need to get motivated!

I need to get motivated!

Today is my first day of dieting/ working out and I cant get motivated! The fact that I need to lose all this weight should be motivation enough, but its just not! I'd rather sit here under my snuggie and watch tv!

So do I...I have gained 15-20 lbs since the wedding. I am starting to make the small changes like bringing lunch to work and no sugary drinks and then work myself back into gym mode. I have such a hard time getting my butt into gear but I have too. I feel horrible and my clothes are not fitting and I am not about to buy anything new to wear.

I've gained about 15 pounds since the wedding too and none of my clothes fit.

Gail, let me give you a website that's helping me. It's a weightloss forum. Reading everyone's progress and writing a journal that people can see has helped me! Here is the link!

You're welcome. Check out people's before and after and their journals. That's what got me motivated. I gained like 10 pounds! So once I got that far, I said I had to commit to this site again.

Re: I need to get motivated!

I find the best way to get and stay motivated is to get rid of ALL of the unhealthy food in the house!

Stocking up on healthy diet friendly snacks and meals makes a huge differece! Also pre-preparing your meals so you don't buy fast food or order take out for dinner.

I gained 5 pounds since the wedding-not the worst thing, but I'm nipping it in the bud like now!

Remember-the gym is important to get a consistent routine going, but TRULY your weight is 90% diet. The diet and exercise combo is your best bet, but DON'T use the 'I worked out so now I'm having 2 slices of pizza' excuse!

LOL me too, trust me!!!
But that excuse is only good for breaking even in the calories in vs calories out balance.

OMG this is seriously so true - or even you just find yourself eating more after working out it totally counteracts the benefits for weight loss reasons. .

I started yesterday and I'm having trouble dragging myself to workout in this weather for some reason but I've been doing my workouts at home nonetheless. I need to lose 12-17lbs.

Aww Gail! You can do it. I really feel like it has to just become a lifestyle. To be honest, I can't imagine NOT eating right and working out. I wasnt always this way. I ate lots of garbage and never exercised and then just got really interested in food/nutrition and being healthy...It's to the point now that I feel incomplete if I am not eating right and exercising. Find things that you enjoy doing as far as exercise goes. I hate running and won't force myself to do it all the time. I love to cycle though and i enjoy the elliptical. I also LOVE lifting weights so I try to challenge my body in that way.

As for the food I don't keep 'trigger' foods in the house. Sometimes I hate that but I know myself and I can't have just one. I allow myself one cheat meal per week and I find that even now the foods I choose to 'cheat' with aren't even cheat foods. I just prefer to put good things into my body. I m really into all this and I would love to help you in any way that i can!
