I PROMISE this will make you laugh....this is what happened when I tried to change my name on my AmEx Card!- UPDATE!!!!

eta: i got this 5 weeks after requesting the card and 4 days after being told my new card 'was in the mail'. I hate AmEx!

UPDATE 12/31: SO after giving them a large chunk of my mind and refusing to go through the whole 'form' process again...I got my new card overnighted and it came today! Full first AND last name, thankyouverymuch!

i called and gave them a HUGE piece of my mind for taking so long and for LYING earlier this week and telling me my card was in the mail. After 30 minutes and speaking to a supervisor a card is being overnighted with my first name and new last name (as I requested). Some idiot didnt think to just take out my middle initial which solves the problem!

i love my amexp but sometimes i really wonder about them ... i had to call 3x over 5 weeks to get the name change form mailed to me ... then i received the forms in the mail every day for a week ...

This actually happened to me too with my maiden name - it was too long to fit on the card, so they took out the last letter of my first name! So random!

Also, my old email with my maiden name was too long for their website so I never got emails from them.

Thankfully I have a short last name now!

ur too much for them with ur new fancy name

I had no problems changing my name on my CC's, albeit my new name is uber short, but all I had to do is call them and let them know that I got married and changed my name
with the bank I had to come in with my marriage license
other than that no crazy issues like this one
they actually took the time to write that whole letter to let u know ur name is too long. a LONG letter at that. idiots

I had issues changing my name with them too. Actually I gave up and it's my only thing I never got changed. They're annoying!!!

That is funny.

I called AMEX two days ago to ask if they had processed my card and new name. They said that they never received my forms back from me.

Then yesterday I received my new card in the mail with new name....
