So I thought I was so cool and clever that I put the new Sookie Stackhouse book on hold a month ago, a month before it came out, and that I'd get my hands on a brand new, free to read copy on Tuesday first day.
Well apparently there are at least 4 other bored wives in Dix Hills that had the same idea as me, first, and I am STILL on the waitlist!
I'm so frustrated...one copy has been on the hold shelf since Tuesday and not picked up yet, and the rest aren't due back till the end of the month...I seriously want to bribe the librarian to let me take the one on hold home tonight and I'll bring it back tomorrow and the other person won't be any the wiser since I'll have it done in one night.
I know this is probably the most pathetic, nerdy thing I have ever posted, but ugh I'm so frustrated! And I know some tool or another is going to post a spoiler on FB and then I'll really be angry!

you could go to target read it and then return it ... this is what i did with one of the twilight books ... i didnt want to buy it cause i was getting the collection series for xmas and the library was out and my firend was reading her copy ... i read the book in the day and then returned it either the next day or the day after that

Hmm....
i was nervous they wouldnt but it was no problem ... if they said anything i was going to go with I got it for someone but they had it already ... esp since it was with in 2 days i figured they cant really argue that i read it already!

They're awesome...I definitely recommend them! They're not as fluffy and romantic as Twilight, so it's more adult, but they're still great.

Sorry to crash...FYI, the new one is not available on the Kindle yet anyway...I was annoyed, I bought it off Amazon anyway, ended up only being $15.

I don't know about the LI library system but the NYPL electronic books can be downloaded to your computer. It is not too bad to read them on the computer.

i did the same thing. on amazon, it is only $9.99. sadly, (imo) this book is not as good as the others in the series. it really seems to drag. plus, i think the books should come out every 6 months opposed to every year because you forget so many of the details. hope you get the book soon!!
