Re: I truly can't choose a table...

Jenn - they are both beautiful, so whatever you decide, I'm sure you'll be happy once it's in your home!

Personally, I like the dual pedastal table - they are so elegant looking. Good luck deciding!!

Re: I truly can't choose a table...

I love pedestals! They fit more people at a table. I think they look elegant.

Beautiful furniture either way though! Good luck with your decision.

Does one table seat more than the other?

Re: I truly can't choose a table...

I love #1. I think the legs better than the pedalstal.

When I fist was looking for my set, we thought we should get the pedalstal for reasons mentioned but wound up going with a similar style table as #1. Just love the legs. Did you try looking into getting it from somewhere in NC - to save money? I bought my set from NC and saved a ton of money!

Re: I truly can't choose a table...

when I got my DR set, I was adamant about getting a pedestal table. Growing up when we had a crowd, someone (me) allways got the leg of the table in the middle of my seat. sooo I would pick the pedestal

Re: I truly can't choose a table...

I like #1. I am not crazy about the pedestal. As for the money issue, this is a piece of furniture that you are going to have for a LONG time. The difference in price will be less of a big deal as the years go by and you are happy with your choice.

Re: I truly can't choose a table...

I woudl go with the pedestal. Simply for the 'knee banging' factor raised by Diane. Its a very nice set.
We went with a pedastal for that exact reason. When we have big family dinners there is always someone on the corner - even with both extens. on the table.

Re: I truly can't choose a table...

I like #2 - the pedestal, it has a very nice modern yet not over the top look to it.
I would LOVE looking at that table every day.
I don't think I would tire of it at all.

I like #1 only because it doesn't look like the 2nd table could open up to accomidate more people if you needed it.

Re: I truly can't choose a table...

I like the pedestal one a bit better but I have to say it probably isn't as practical. Whenever I sit at a table with a pedestal, I always knock my knees on it or something. I definitely like the fabric-backed chairs though.

Re: I truly can't choose a table...

I told you this before, but that set is GORGEOUS!!! I LOVE it!! Either table is nice, like Anna said, it's going to last a long time so you'll only be spending the money once! I know how you feel, I have a hard time making up my mind also, but if you feel that you'll get sick of looking at the pedestal, then go for the first one!!!!

Both are excellent choices and will look beautiful!!! Happy choosing!!

Re: I truly can't choose a table...

#1, please.

That pedestal would leave bruises all over my long legs when you have me over for dinner!!

Seriously, they are both beautiful. But, #1 would be *my* preference!!

Good luck!

P.S. I'm jealous that you're getting a dining room set... I still have my cheap IKEA table in mine. We're in the 'save-all-your-money-until-after-our-Peanut's-are-over-18-mode'.

Re: I truly can't choose a table...

I think the pedastal is more practical for NOT banging your knees. If any one is going to band your knees, it will be the table with the legs.
I have a pedastal, and I LOVE it, I dont even notive it is there. It is also very sturdy too, because it is solid oak.
Jenn, you also have to sit in the chairs to see which one is more comfortable.
