and checking out the Childless Family board since its new and wanted to see what it was all about (and Im terribly bored). Well, I noticed there already was drama between parents and those that dont want kids. Anyway, do you guys think the parents on LIF have the right to comment on the childless family board or do you think it should be forbidden territory for those with kids?

is there more drama over there?!?!?! I hate to say it..but this thread being created has just resulted in so much drama..its really sad..I like that board..Why can't people just agree to disagree.
This thread caused drama?? Where and Why? It was a pretty calm discussion I think.

I get that it's a public board and anyone can comment but I really think it was inappropriate for parents to go comment on there to begin with. The board is geared for ppl who don't have children for whatver reason...it's esp wrong to go there and be insulting to the posters that the board was created for. Like some of you ladies said, it's like a B2B coming on here and causing drama by being insulting. IMO that parent needs to get a life....

I think they should be allowed to go on but NOT to make comments to those who don't want kids and criticize that decision. That is someones personal choice, and just because they feel differently they shouldn't attack somebody because of that. The same way I am sure they wouldn' want to be attacked for the decisions they made in their lives.
If somebody doesn't want kids, i dont know why its anyone elses business to tell them differently.

I thought a lot was taken out of context. People are entitled to their opinions. It's not like anyone said Parent's have no identity and sex appeal or whatever. THe post said she was afraid of those things happening to her.
I think the whole thing snowballed and to behonest, the majority of it was very immature. A few thoughtful comments were made but in a whole, I'm surprised I read through as much as I did.

I totally get this but do the parents have the right to be upset by what they see and comment on it?

well since I'm a parent now, i guess i feel a little different... personally I don't go on that bored, and didn't respond to it when i just read it now.
I am a little peeved by what some of them wrote... just cause i had a baby didnt make me lose my identity, and im far from fat, i lost all my preggo weight by my 6 week check up, and thankfully have no stretch marks lol... also my husband witnessed the birth of our son and he does see me differently but a good different, he was so proud of me. Maybe im lucky and im thankful for that, but i guess thats why i dont get why people talk cr ap when they dont know first hand.
but i do get, its there personal space and they can say what they feel.
It might have peeved me a little if I were on the other side. But I think they are legitimate fears of women who are afraid of pregnancy and they shouldnt be afraid to say it.
Oh I totally agree with you, that is why I wouldn't have gone on that board and said anything to them. I don't think that telling them what they were saying is wrong, because obviously their feelings aren't wrong, there justified, but it peeved me because I hate that someone would think that way.
It's a wonderful experience, and if someone wants to have children, but is afraid that there DH won't look at them the same way after, just sickens me, I feel for those women, because if I had thought my DH would react that way I don't know what I would have felt.

I will be honest. If I ever joined LIF (which IM 95 percent sure I will never do) I would frequent the childless boards because at this point in my life it terrifies me. But I never once thought I didnt want to have kids because of what my DH would think of me. If I ever thought he would look at me a certain way because of it, I would feel like I really dont know him as a person. When I read that one girls post I went I mean I can see how they would be legitimate fears but they DID seem so harsh when I first read them. But after thinking about it, I could understand some women feeling that way.

. Just so you know, it was on a very recent Oprah that a sex therapist came on and said that many men haev a hard time being with their wives after experiencing the pregnancy and labor and since its so 'taboo' that it never gets resolved and ruins their sex lives.
not all men, not many men, but some men do have that reaction. . . dont pity me bc of my fears, it condescending!
(( just in case this comes out mean, i dont mean it that way - i dont want to fight with you, just see another side of it))

Tilde, was this the episode where the one husband couldnt give his wife oral anymore after he saw her give birth?? I think I saw this episode. I told DH I dont want him anywhere near my room when Im giving birth after seeing that. Even though I really doubt he would react that way, you just never know!
