If anything went wrong on your wedding day, did you complain to the vendor afterwards?
I was really dissapointed in my florist. I had the most faith in them. They screwed up everything. I gave them pics twice and went over everything several times. My boquet also turned brown in a 1/2 hour and several flowers fell off. The FG boquets did the same. I already left a voicemail complaining before my honeymoon. I'm wondering if I should call and speak directly with the owner or send a letter. Did any of you complain? If so, what was the result?

we complained about our wedding video........they never taped the ceremony so we got some money back for that.......
we wanted to complain about the DOC, but really, what's the point. the damage was done, nothing could come of it.
I'm sorry that you weren't happy with your flowers..........

My reception hall totally F***ED EVERYTHING UP......Aparently our guests didn't notice much, or so they say. I was devestated after the wedding and I dind't feel righ leaving for my honeymoon with that looming over our head so I called and spoke withthe owner and told him the rest of the balance that we had with them we would not be paying and if he pursued it I would go to the newspaper about it. Needless to say he sropped it and I haven't heard from them since.
I feel, that if you have something specific written in your contract that you have requested and paid for then you have every right to complain and be financially compensated for.

I'm so sorry you both went through that..... Only really trivial things went wrong in our case, so I felt really lucky...... I never commented on them....

Flowers- I didn't get a throw away Bok or mom-grandma corsages..FH dealt with that we received some compensation
Limo- I think we did get some money back as well..
We pay vendors really good money for them to have our day not as we 'planned' no matter how trivial..
if you were dissatisfied I say you should say something..

Thanks. Sorry to hear about your video problem. Glad that you got $ back. BTW, did your videographer use a blinding light?? Ours was horrible.

Yup! I complained to the florist. They were the only ones who really messed up and it was totally their fault. (Delivered to the wrong church when I gave specific directions to the correct church that they just ignored)
They apologized profusely as soon as they found out what happened and offered to make it up to us in a way I found basically satisfactory. The FLORIST did not know of the error - b/c the delivery guys just dropped them off and left. Once she found out, though, she did the right thing professionally, IMO.
Other things went wrong, but it wasn't the vendor's fault or the vendor did the exact right thing. Actually, the only other vendor issue is that the classic car we wanted broke down the morning of our wedding. They called HOURS before the wedding (as soon as they knew) and offered us any other car we wanted that was available. There's no need for me to complain there b/c it wasn't their fault and they handled it very professionally.
One of the pick up pleats in my dress tore when someone stepped on it, ruining the front of my dress and causing my MOH to have to pin it up. I don't think it should have ripped, but I'm not sure to whom I'd complain at this point and what good it would do.
If you're REALLY unhappy with what the vendor did, I'd let them know ASAP... especially since many of them read here. Better be up front with them and give them a chance to redeem themselves before you write your review!

Hmm I can't say I outright complained about anything afterwards. I suppose my reviews served as that! Though I did have an FM exchange with a vendor. He contacted me to say he was sorry he missed the wedding...and I wrote back with my complaints. He never responded. Needless to say, I'm disappointed in him. But it's all over and done with -nothing could stop our day from being amazing!
For flowers it wasn't worth complaining that the bo-k wasn't exactly as we discussed...big whoop, it was still pretty. Even the BM bo-ks weren't exactly right either.
Limo- whatever! so they sent a different limo...it irritated me but at the same time, we used it for a very little while and that was that!
The vendors that will be getting awesome TY's from me are CLM, Duet and Lillette's. That's about it!

i did..
i was disappointed with my florist as well.. i just wanted to let them know and they were responsive to me and felt bad.. the ceremony set up did not look anything like the picture i left with them (pic i left -in my album under wedding stuff) and set up i got in non pro pics album...
throw away boq went missing some how, my MOH boq looked liked the BM and it was written in the contract to have a mix between two colors..
i let it go the day of the wedding because i didnt want it to ruin my day but i did contact them the next day to let them know the issues...
it bothered me most when i would go over again the flowers at the final meeting i got the dont worry we got it all under control...
they sent me a gift card to make up for it - nice gesture but still you envision one thing and then when the dya comes you see something else..

No I didnt. Our florist messed up big time, but rectified most of the problems before we left for the church. In the end though, I'm still unhappy about how the flowers looked.
I was also very dissatisfied with our DJ -- he messed up a bunch of things and really could have done a MUCH better job of reading the crowd when it came to music selections (which he claimed to be great at).
And I was also VERY VERY upset with the dress shop. They knew of all my problems with them from the beginning though.
I never called to complain because the damage is done, you cant go back and change it, and mostlikely you wont be compensated anyway.... so I wrote my reveiew and left it at that.

I complained to my florist. I didn't realize at the time because I had a DOC....but the flowers were delivered to the wrong church. My guest were already at the church when they finally arrived. Then I felt as though some of my CP's could of been much fuller like my sample CP. So I called and wrote an email and they did reimburse me a little bit.

The only vendor that didn't do exactly what our contract said was the DJ....we were promised a certain MC and it wasn't the one that showed up the day of the wedding.
We were supposed to have two first dances (one for just us, and then a 2nd for all to join in). Even though we met with them 2 weeks before the wedding and specified everything, they downloaded the wrong 2nd song. Also we asked for mainly 80s music and there were very few 80s songs played.
We never complained because our guests had a great time, but I still think about it 10 months later.

so many things went wrong, but the only vendor I complained to was After Hours! They sent my ring bearer, who is 3 years old, a mans size small vest and tie! We had to go out the day before the wedding and buy him a children's vest and tie. I wanted my money back being that I incurred the cost of another vest and tie!

My vendors were pretty decent so I didn't have the need to complain but if I had a major problem I would definitely say something.

didn't say ANYTHING.. I'm kinda just glad the day is OVER, and theres nothing left.. so why even bother... BUT I also want to give my florist a piece of my mind! That's why I tore them a new A hole in my review [which I have YET to post]

Re: If anything went wrong on your wedding day, did you complain to the vendor afterwards?
There were really only 2 things that went 'wrong' at my wedding, neither of which I complained about because there's nothing that could be done after the fact - and they really were trivial!
1. Cake - I asked for buttercream frosting, and instead they used whipped cream, which is why I didn't see the cake all night until they brought it out to cut. And, it wasn't decorated exactly as I'd asked - but, I didn't really care that much cause everyone said it was delicious, and the caketopper was the main attraction!
2. My dress - the hem was about an inch too long, and I stepped on it all night long, even bustled....But, what can I do now, right?
Besides those, I had nothing to complain about, so I guess I was lucky!

Everything went well on my wedding day so I really don't have anything to complain about. I had a few complaints about a vendor and I posted them on LIweddings.com. Unfortunately that vendor found out and yelled at me when I went back to take care of final business. It bothered me a lot. I thought it was safe to post my true opinions on here. Apparantly not.

oh duh HOW could I forget about the cake? I probably should have complained...after all I did NOT want a ribbon with baseballs! We had a very in depth discussion over what I wanted- classy, not cute or birthday cakey. And that's what he sends. Oh well, what's done is done. Pointless to even bring it up.
