It HAS to be the KITCHEN and the master bathroom!!!!!

My hubby said a big enough MANS room!!!!!

That it is a great neighborhood, and it has a basement. My DH was a contractor for a little bit..so he doesn't need something that is finished..he wants to do that himself.

The most important thing was that it had a dining room (need someplace to put all that china) and it either had a basement or attic. It also just needed to have good potential and have good bones. I like older houses thas still had that old charm to it. I like that we can fix everything up ourselves and do it the way we like it not the way someone else just did it.

When we were house-hunting our priorities were:
Good neighborhood/ school district
At least 3 bedrooms
Basement
Garage and/or Shed (we ended up with both)
Master bedroom had to be large enough to fit our King size furniture

And of course, it had to meet what we were pre-approved for!!

We based our new apartment rental largely on the brand new kitchen it had.

Location location location oh and we also had to be able to afford the mortgage payment that was sort of important

vin & i are looking for a basement, decent piece of property, & it has to be in Bay Shore SD.

We know the specific area we're looking in too.. and they all have basements.. Lets just keep our fingers crossed that something pops up.

the location was most important for us! we are both south shore people and wanted something very close to where we were. And we found it!

we wanted garage, basement, at least 3 bedrooms. a big yard, good school district and a fixer upper so we could make it our own.. we got it all!!!

our big priority was that it was in a good area and that it wouldn't be too far from where we were originally. We got both plus more with the house we bought. We were very lucky

location location location! The neighborhood we wanted is very $$$$, but very comfy. Good schools, gorgeous, and wonderful neighbors....

So, we weren't too fussy about the actual home... we just wanted to be there. We found a small fixer-upper. It's a 19th century saltbox, with 2 bedrooms. a little small, but still has the original doors / knobs / mouldings / floor, and a great 100 year old cast iron tub....

we can afford to fix it up now, and figure as DH graduates and gets a job, we'll be able to add on....

I will say, the historical parts were a real selling feature.... it's got a lot of charm.
