If your DH works nights...Do you still cook?

For the ladies whose DHs work nights and aren't home at dinner time, do you still cook every night? Or do you only cook on the night's he's off and home for dinner??

Re: If your DH works nights...Do you still cook?

A couple of nights a week my Dh comes home late due to sports and a class he is taking. Tonight is one of those nights.

I will probably cook something light today- not a full blown meal. I will put it aside from him until he comes home.

Re: If your DH works nights...Do you still cook?

Only once in a GREAT while do I cook when he works nights. I'm content with a sandwich or a bowl of soup or cereal.

I cook to make him something to take to work the next day. Sometimes I eat that sometimes I throw something in the microwave or on the grill.

I don't cook when he works late...I usually treat myself to take out, or eat things he hates when he's not around.

Re: If your DH works nights...Do you still cook?

Thanks girls. I wasn't sure what works best. My original plan was not to cook unless he's actually home for dinner. I just wanted to see what everyone else does.

Re: If your DH works nights...Do you still cook?

Since my DH started working 4 - midnights I have still been cooking for him. I cook him food to eat/ take to work the following day which I eat that night. He is pretty anal about eating healthy so I hate to see him having to eat out every night, plus it costs a fortune. He wouldn't make food for himself to take- just too lazy. I definetely don't ccok on the nights I work late, though.

Re: If your DH works nights...Do you still cook?

It depends. I try to cook with having left overs in mind for those nights that we are busy or he works late or I am just to tired to cook. Being pregnant and having diabetes I do have to be careful what I eat for dinner so I try to cook but I am also fine with a sandwhich. Normally a bowl of cereal would be just fine for me in the evening though.

Re: If your DH works nights...Do you still cook?

I don't cook if DH is working.
I either have leftovers, a sandwich or go steal from Mom and Dad.

Re: If your DH works nights...Do you still cook?

I never know when FI is coming home, it depends if he has an ER case come in, so I don't really cook, because I don't know when he'll be home.

We usually grab a bite to eat or do take out...we do take out A LOT!
