But they are eating your food?

They bought some of their own stuff, and she's been buying stuff to cook us dinner, so yes and no.

Another thing I forgot to mention, she has been going into our bedroom every day to make our bed!!! ***! I have even closed my door every morning.

And yesterday I came home to find my laundry done and the woman FOLDED MY UNDERWEAR.

I am just at a loss right now.

i think what you ahve to remember is that this is your DH's mother. she's just doing 'motherly' things while you guys are working - she probably misses it since he's been out of her house for so long

my MIL is exactly the same way - every time DH goes 'home' to pick something up or whatever from my ILs house, he comes home with tissues and bounty. like, do they think i dont buy tissues and bounty for their sonny boy? it's jsut their thing - ive learned not to argue about it. one time she told me i wasn't buying the right cough medicine for her son and that's when i lost it. i'll keep my mouth shut about the bounty though - yay free paper towels

HAHA!!! I get air fresheners, candles, rugs and soap. Apparently I'm not clean enough!!! haha!!! I don't care anymore, I just make sure she knows what kind I like! For instance she used to buy us OJ but I finally got fed up because I had non pulp OJ and so does DH, she stopped altogether instead of changing to pulp!! haha!!!

I got new dishes last night! I know she is doing mom-like things, I feel bad being such a brat. But I feel like undies are so personal, i would never want to touch someone elses gross underwear

Thanks for the perspective girls, maybe I'll just nicely tell her that she doesn't need to do these things. I guess since my own mom doesn't even do my laundry and make my bed its just weird for me. But DH is her only son, so I'm sure she is just doing things for her baby boy. I didn't really think of it that way. I'll play nice

Re: IL Vent/ HELP!

I think you can just ask her to stay out of your room....do you go into her room when you visit them? I think that is a boundary that she should respect

Re: IL Vent/ HELP!

Making a copy of your house keys without asking is completely out of line in my opinion. I don't care who the person is, they should ask first. And secondly, they should also be asking YOU if they can stay at your house, not just assume.

If I were you I would stress your feelings to DH and tell him that your not comfortable with any of this, and just be honest. Have him be the one to talk to them so there's no friction between you and them. Also, if it were me I would prob change my locks just out of principle.

I'm sorry

Re: IL Vent/ HELP!

Yeah. Being motherly is me thing. Using it as an excuse to act waaaaay out of line is another. And I think they very much crossed that line when they made a key copy and entered your private space. If DH's mother had done that, I would have asked her to stay at a hotel. And DH knew this.
